They likely have a recommended mount line, and since they are park skis it should be pretty well set for park skiing. Its not a symmetrical ski so I wouldn't recommend dead center but if you find that the recommended line is too far back you can ask them to mount at +1 or +2cm from that line. I don't know enough about the tigersnake to say exactly what I would do though....

When he says symmetrical he's talking about the dimensions, not the flex. Also you could ask a shop most employees are pretty knowledgeable when it comes to mounting.

The ski has a symmetrical flex as others have said but the tip is still slightly larger than the tail so the side cut is not symmetrical so you shouldn’t mount in the true center of the ski. Recommended mount for Tigersnake Skis is 3cm back from true center and that’s where their recommended mounting line is. Mount there and enjoy!

I’m thinking of the Tyrolia attack 11 bindings, would these work good?

I am a HUGE fan of Tyrolia bindings as they are light, beefy and priced well. The Attack 11 is the only one I don't love in the Attack line as it is made more for beginner skiers and the heel height is higher than the rest of the Attack line heels. It is like being on high heels forcing the beginner to lean forward more which is a good thing for a beginner as they usually don't lean forward enough but many people like myself don't like bindings with a high ramp angle like that and prefer it flatter like the Attack 12/13/16 heel. Feels like you are skiing in the back seat a bit with the Attack 11. So Attack 12 or up and you not only get more future proof DIN/Weight settings but a better heel design.

Another thing to consider is that there is a brand new version of the Attack series this year that you can use with back-country styled soles(WTR-Walk To Ride) or regular ski boots, so there are great deals on last years Attack 13 bindings which is the best value in the line and the ones I use and recommend. You could get last years Attack 13 in the 85mm(It's actually 88mm) brake which is perfect for those skis for about $120 which is cheaper than this years Attack 11!

Ok so do you mean they will still be in the center but just a little bit backwards? I don’t want it to be like an alpine ski

Correct, just 3cm back from the measured center of the ski is the mounting point for those skis. A regular, non twin tip ski would be about 12cm or more back from center, so much further back.

For me personally -3 seems like a lot back. If your doing a bunch of park i would go -1.5 IMO. Also definitely go for 164cm.

I would agree with a -1.5/2cm back mounting if the person was skiing nothing but park but performance outside the park would suffer unless you go further back a bit. Typical park/all-mountain mounting is usually in the -4cm area, so -3cm back (on the line recommended by the manufacture of the ski) means they are gearing the ski more towards park but still want decent performance for all mountain use which is the intended use of the OP.

dude? tf? just because the nose is wider you shouldn't center mount it? mount the tigersnakes dead center. they are true park skis, that means they are supposed to be dead center. i even mounted my B-dogs 2016 center. and they are 121-94-111. i had to remount them, and they mounted them on recommended and it took all the fun out of them. got them to mount them back to center and they were way funner. just saying. switch riding will be way easier as well. GO CENTER!

Of course anyone is free to mount any directional ski dead center but like most things in life, there will be benefits and sacrifices to doing so. When you mount any ski closer to center you increase the ease of pivoting, the "quickness" of response of the ski, stability in the air and of course ease of switch riding. The problem is that you sacrifice forward directional float, stability and the ability to properly carve a turn outside of the park.

Manufactures choose their mounting points based on the sidecut of the ski and where the ski is going to be used. Armada, J Skis, Head, Line, K2 etc. will usually recommend an "All-Mountain point" around 5 or 6 cm back of center on their All Mountain twin tips skis and around the 2.5cm back to true center on their Park skis. A customer is free to mount wherever they wish but all these skis will suffer in the park when put 6cm back but provide great powder, carving and stability at speed going forward just like the centered ski will be great on rails but will not be as stable going forward outside the park.

The person who started the post is used to directional all mountain skis which are in the -10cm plus range back and is looking for twin tips to use all mountain AND to start skiing in the park so the factory mount of -3cm is a decent compromise between the two I think as does Line who makes the ski. He might eventually use these or get dedicated skis for park only and then mount closer to center in the future.

You and many others like center mounted skis and thats great but it does sacrifice performance outside the park. I ski mostly all mountain with a bit of park jumps so I run my skis from -3.5 to -4 cm back as I would rather sacrifice a bit of park performance than all mountain. There are infinite mounting points on any ski as everyone has a personal preference but everyone should be aware of the advantages and disadvantages of those locations.
