I'm assuming it's the renamed version of the one life. In my limited experience it is a really fun ski. I've had them on groomers, chop, corn, and cement snow and they will go right over the top of anything with the insane rocker. Only downside so far is every Jerry in the line has to make a comment about the rocker profile but it's worth it.
I love Surface but my buddy this last season skied them quite a bit and (although I have no personal experience on them) he liked them for about a month and then started disliking them more and more cuz of the crazy rocker. You have like no usable edge and he would accidentally butter up on his tails a lot, hope this helps
i ride them for everything and they handle everything super well. i have never been limited by the crazy rocker in any way shape or form, if anything its helped. they are super fun and mine have held up way better then i was expecting them too. they are super stiff though so be mindful of that.
thanks for the opinions guys! i forgot to add that i probably won't use them too much. I take a trip out west a few times a year, last year i went to powder mountain and one of the days i was there they got like 3 feet of snow, and i was stuck using my armada alphas haha. just trying to be prepared this time
I love my outsiders, they d not excel on park jumps or on really hard snow. They excel on crud and soft snow and are super stable on rails. They are some of the funnest skis ive ever ridden. I would not recommend them as a daily driver just because they arent the most versatile. Atleast for me they dont seem to have a middle ground. They are either super fun or the exact opposite. For what you are going to use them for I would say pull the trigger. Also if your are 5'9 or taller I would definitely get them in a 189, they ski pretty short and if you want them for all mountain you should definitely size up. They have lots of rocker and a tiny amount of effective edge.
