Park.Update on this. I got the free version of Hitfilm and its honestly underwhelming. Its too basic for what I was looking for. Maybe there are no free editing software options that have color correction and more advanced aspects of editing. I didn't explain that Ive made probably 6 edits (IG and vimeo) so I'm not entirely new. I will also say that the free version still has elements that I am unfamiliar with, but I haven't found a reason to use these for anything I've been working on yet.
The free version is also confusing since some features are blocked off and I can't tell if its actually blocked off or I'm not applying them properly. My school has Premier on some computers so I'm going to give that a try.
I never used Hitfilm, I trust Ryan Connelly on his opinion so for a free program you can't expect to much.
Download Davinci Resolve..... If you are looking for good color correction the free version is what I use after editing in premiere, it is also pretty nice when editing in it as well..... If you need tutorials on how to use it check out Casey Farris on YouTube.
