jmckay7I remember Gus Kenworthy knocking himself out along with losing a couple of front teeth about a year back, going face first into a rail. Couldn't help but wonder why full face helmets aren't more common, mainly in the park. Yes they look completely daft and personally I'd never wear one, but it would have saved Gus a very expensive trip to the dentist...
-eREKTion-Try and spot a landing when your peripheral vision is reduced by 30%.
jmckay7that's a fair point
VinnieFRuroc?
TOAST.Dont full face helmets increase the chance of spine injury?
CB4TSBThe only person who could ever pull off that and make it look cool was Seth Morrison.
50KalHow? Not trying to be a dick but how would a full face increase the chance of spinal injury?
TOAST.More weight being thrown around and possibly more leverage on the neck. I couldn't find any good sources to back this up but I also didnt look to long. Theres discussion on numerous mountain bike forums.
BrawnTrendsWell that's why people wear neck braces in DH MTB. So their heads don't go too far back when they crash. (which is also why we have headrests in cars)
TOAST.Yea, but neck braces havnt been brought up at all in this thread
