looking for a new laptop, preferably one that is under $400. not really sure where to start, because most of the "cheap" laptops that have been recommended to me are closer to the $1000 mark. let me know what you guys have/recommend and why. keep in mind i'm not too picky about overall performance since im used to shitty frame rates and graphics settings, and it doesnt necessarily have to be a dedicated gaming laptop. thanks
There's no sense in skimping when it comes to parts on a laptop if you're looking to game with it. You're going to want at least 16 gigs of ram amongst other things. 400$ laptops will not even come close to getting the job done
"Gaming Laptop" and "under $400" dont go in the same sentence. You can get a nice web-browsing computer for $400, but if you actually like games, you need to spend at least $1000.
For that budget you MIGHT be able to do a low end desktop build if you really searched for deals.
Portability=Price Increase and if you want to be able to run modern games at 60fps your gonna want
Dedicated Graphics-1050ti is pretty cheap but I would recommend spending more on the gpu
16 gigs of ram
Decent proccesor-i5 and above
ssd(not necessary but nice)
Add in decent build quality and screen and your looking at about 700-900$ for a laptop that runs the like of pubg at 45-60 frames at low settings.
If you are a member of Costco or Sam's Club they have some beefy laptops that are normally on sale that play AAA titles at like 30-40 fps. Also be sure to find out what the game requires before you buy something way over budget and over kill, or you underestimate the title and it doesn't even run.
I saw some laptops with a GTX 1050 4GB on newegg for around that $700 price point from some manufacturers that aren't known for gaming (Like Lenovo, IBM, and some HPs).
