Hi!
I've been skiing for about two years now, and can basically ski anywhere on the mountain. Previously, I picked up some used Atomic Beta-Ride (???) skis--basically some old used skis that I beat up while learning to ski (they look like the skis in the picture). Despite my research instructing me to not use these skis at all (due to bindings not matching boot size [requiring the bindings to be remounted] and no longer being supported by shops), I figured out how to remount and tune the bindings myself (bad idea, but everything worked out well, no problems with pre/post release, even when crashing hard).
Since then, I've joined my university's ski team to get out more, but have decided that I might want to get better/safer skis. I'd like to be able to go anywhere on the mountain, but also be able to butter/do a bit more park (but I'm probably not into jibbing rails or the like).
I'm probably going to take one trip out to Utah or Mammoth, but the remainder of the season I'll be in the east coast. I'm 6' 135 lbs, and pretty broke so I'm hoping to spend ~$350 total for skis+bindings (I spent 75 on my last pair lol).
So far I've really only seen the Atomic Infamous meet my expectations, but I've been put off them a bit after reading stories about their durability on this site.
Any help appreciated.
