Headphone selection?

for skiing I normally just listen to the mountain, but during the rare times I ski with music or if I'm filming and posted up with a tripod I use my Airpods. The goggle strap holds them in perfect, but honestly they've never fallen out of my ears in other situations. I think when peoples headphones fall out its actually the cord getting snagged on something and pulling them out, but AirPods sit perfectly even when aggressively shaking your head.

for at home more casual listening/editing on my computer the Sony MDR-1000x. They sound significantly better than the Bose QC-35 while offering slightly better active noise cancellation too. I didn't believe it at first so I bought both to test and the Sonys are better at everything except comfort, not that they're not comfy but the Bose's are amazingly light and also the angled drivers in the ear fit better than sonys flat drivers

after I embraced bluetooth I totally see why Apple and now many other manufacturers are ditching the analog jack, fuck a wire I'm never going back

Apple stock headphones are killer, you don't have to take out your phone to answer calls and you can hit up Siri whenever u want. Sometimes I wonder if Siri is special and the headphone cords get in the way.

Soul Republic makes a really nice in ear earbud if you have ears like me that simply dont work with any apple earbud. Also found that earbuds that have mic attachments on them tend to cause music to cut in and out if they are left exposed when skiing.

Everyone's ears are shaped a little different, but for me these are the frickin shiz. They're super comfy and you can answer calls and stuff. I can even wear them under my helmet and they feel great. Skullcandy actually has killer customer service too. If they break (which they do because they're 30 bucks) they'll always send you another pair.

I'm usually too busy interacting with the crew to warrant headphones, but if I'm riding solo I'll just use my normal apple earbuds. Comfortable and not too expensive so I'm not too worried about damaging them but they fit my ears well so probably gonna get the next generation of airpods or wait for the first gens to go on sale.

Bose sound sports are awesome if going under a beanie or a helmet
