im not that good, but im okay, usually if they do something stupid like come into a jump way too slow or slide a box way too slow and get stuck ill think "well hopefully they learned from that and dont make that mistake again" and if they fall doing something where you can tell they are trying but just mess up usually ill think "at least they are out here learning and trying" sometimes if theyve fallen a few times ill strike up a convo and try and slide in some tips if i know what they are trying to do.

Nothing gets me more fired up than watching someone sending it when they are at a low ability level. Everyone who rides park a lot can remember being there. So when I see somebody eat it I may laugh a little if it is funny, but mostly it just stokes me out to see new shredders putting it on the line.

TLDR: Fucking send it son

I usually feel bad when its a kid, as I use to be paranoid as fuck when I was starting. It has probably been said but only highschool crews laugh at people who eat shit cause they have 0 sense

Usually I run over to make sure they're not dead and are out of the landing zone. Help them up or call it in if they broke themselves. As far as anything else I don't care. I only judge people who side jump or roll my takeoffs, cut people off, try to kill me, etc.

If somebody is trying to learn a new trick, or trying a new feature, good for them. I get stoked for them if they make it.

Everyone's gotta start somewhere.

depends on what they did. If it was a gaper who was blocking something and eating it, I will laugh hard. If it is a kid learning rails and eating it. I will also laugh but help him out if I had a similar issue. I will say I get cockier than I should since I am not very good either and look like an idiot. Hopefully this year its just going to be chill and good vibes.

i only laugh when someone double ejacs out of rentals/race skis after knuckling hard. if its a gnarly crash anywhere else mad respect, other than that i do that shit every run every day i dont think twice about seeing someone fall

Are they OK? Does patrol need to come? Should I close the feature to keep someone else from hitting them until they/their equipment move?
Is there any advice or encouragement I can offer that will help them stick what they were trying?

SO fucking true. I respect people who are sending it and crashing since they are trying to get better without trying to take shortcuts. No hate or disrespect or belittlement. Honestly gets me stoked to see it. Everyone falls. Wallisch falls. Harulaut. Its just they fall pushing their limits (or edge catches). Same shit.

Best part about riding a small shitty mountain is that all 8 people that ride park there know each other so if one of us eats shit you better believe there are some chuckles, but its all in good fun.

When the church group of 90 gapers show up to ski their one day a year that also provides some good laughs cuz they arent trying to "progress" as skiers they just send it off of literally anything.

Agreed. No one cares. Anyone good in the park has respect for noobs. We all start somewhere. It always seems to be the trash teenagers giving people shit for falling. Dont take it personally if it happens because they arent great either. As long as you have proper park etiquette you will be fine. If you fall, get back up and try again. You can't get better without trying. If you keep at it, eventually you will get all those easy basics down and be falling on the stuff where people say "shit he almost landed that."

If you're gonna send it, at least video tape it so we can watch it on Jerry of the Day :D

When I was a noob I always thought that the better park rats secretly laughed at me in ridicule but now that I'm decently good, ive now realized that looking at a noob eating it truly is a rite of passage as others have said. Usually i think to myself hey I used to be him.

On the off chance I'll even give him a few tips if he's up for it, something that I greatly appreciated when starting out idk.

Either way don't let the hecklers get you down, if you stay motivated you'll soon be able to tell them to fuck off.
