I know most of you (probably) don’t stretch that much. Since I blew my ACL I’ve started stretching before I do almost anything. I’ve decided to work my way to try and do the splits just to see how long it’ll take me. Most articles are saying about a month but I’m shooting for a few weeks. I’m hoping someone here has the ability and some tips and secrets I might not be able to find. If so hit me with em!
inappreckate the help guys and gals!
(in b4 doing the splits is lame why would you do that?)

This thread confuses my little mind. In my experience, every chick in gradeschool who was able to do the splits evolved into a massive ho. You have been warned OP

GIMME THE DICKS!
I’ve been setting tons of new goals this year and knocking them out 1 at a time with a lot of help from different people lol. I was hoping NS might have some tips. Someone on this website HAS to be able to do the splits.
frickindarnStart today with me. Post your progress in a month and I will too.
Do you have a regimen you're following somewhere? Also, I'm assuming you mean one leg in front one leg behind splits, not both out to the side, correct?

I’m talking side to side my guy. Ive been just pushing butterfly stretch every few hours about 3 times for 10-30 seconds. I also hold my bed and just go for it for about 20 seconds when there’s a slight pressure. I’m also doing regular to touches and I guess super basic yoga to help the rest of my body.
Pretty easy IMO. Get drunk and try and walk across a frozen ice coast parking lot. You can learn to do the splits in like 30 seconds.
Disclaimer: If you get carted off to the hospital still in "the splits" and it takes you months of PT to be able to walk normally again I will not be held liable.

Finally someone with help! Abortion actor wins for first dong on NS to touch the ground.
Do more than just butterfly stretches. Take time to get super flexible in your legs, not just be able to do "the splits" but also be able to twist yourself into a pretzel. It helps in daily life, or if you rock climb like me.

Pick a "good" leg that you want to learn a split on. You can either do right leg forward, or left leg forward (or middle if you are ambitious).
I'm a lefty so I'm going to go off of that, for right leg it's just opposite legs.
Stretch your left hamstring (and maybe calf if you're really tight) and your right quad and hip flexor. These are the muscles you will want to be loose
Left Leg:
Kneel on the ground and extend your left leg straight out and you can reach down towards your toes and also push your hip down to maximize the stretch. Alternate pointing your toe and flexing it up to stretch out your calves and lower(?) hampsring area.
Right Leg:
-In a lunge position on the ground with your left leg forward, push your hips to the ground. Lift your back leg for max quad/hip flexor stretch. (see photo)
From that lunge position, start to push yourself down into a split like position (probably easiest if you think about trying to straighten your back leg and slide down).
Eventually you will get there. For our younger gymnasts, it probably took about 2 months on average to do proper splits all three ways. Some never actually get all the way down on their "bad" legs or in middle so it all really depends on you and your flexibility.
Source: I was a competitive gymnast for 11 years and did this on a daily basis.

Fuck yea! Thanks a ton Mingg! And I’m going ambitious for the middle. If that’s my eventual goal do you recommend I go and get comfortable with both left and right legs first?

Middle uses a different set of muscles (inner thighs) so being able to do right and left won't help a ton since those are more hamstrings, quads and hip flexors. For middle I HIGHLY recommend froggie stretches (imagine being a girl and mounting your bf - that kinda position.). Just lay like that, it's the best stretch ever because you don't have a ton of weight pulling you down so it's like the perfect stretch.
PSA: splits don't hurt your fucking dick like tons of people think

Thanks Ming. I’m gunna practice mounting my girlfriend to get the splits lol. Also I wasn’t even concerned about my junk until now #littledonggang
Just do a lot of stretching. Do lunges a lot while gradually increasing the length of stride. I was able to get most of the way there by doing high kicks at speedbags while I would workout after stretching a lot for about 2 weeks I was able to get to a full split
