Pads While Skiing??

INB4 iFlip says "you wear pads while you ski so your period blood doesn't leak in your pants because you're a pussy"

So Ive never used or worn pads while skiing, but Im curious, do most pros, or just park skiers in general wear pads? In the Cold Turkey traveling circus episode, LJ has a infected rash from a knee pad, but thats about all I've seen a pro skier wear for protection (besides helmets and knee braces). Do people wear pads? What kinds? I feel like a would be more daring and progressive if i had pads on, but id image them to be uncomfortable and unnatural.

Lj wears knee/shin pads when he skis urban because of his terrible accident when he shattered his kneecap in finland. Some guys wear padded shorts or maybe a back brace/pad or a knee brace if they've had previous injuries, but most urban skiers don't wear pads, let alone helmets.

I wear a helmet and that's about it. I'm not sure how many products are out there that are going to make it hurt less to hit the ground at high speed.

I've got a back brace thats forsure helped in some instances. Sometimes slipping out on a rail or murking up a landing it comes in handy. Had a buddy training me on a jump and he didn't see me crash and he landed right on my back, but with the brace it felt like a decent punch and nothing more. I'd recommend that.

I bought some thigh pads when I was a kid but took them off after an hour cause they were to uncomfortable.
It also makes you paranoid because you know if you break both your legs and ski patrol comes, they are going to laugh their asses off when the cut off your snowpants

A back protector comes in really clutch sometimes. I use POC's low profile one and it is barely noticeable and sometimes I even forget i'm wearing it. Super worth it for around 100 bucks and helps with confidence and not having avy gear or beers in your pack destroy your back. Backslapping, weird rail slip outs, hitting trees or anything to the back is never fun. Henrik rocks one too.

I wore shin/knee when I was first learning rails. Saved a lot of kneecap to steel moments, and I didn't care if people called me a pussy.

Years ago when I was learning rails I wore my padded girdle from football. It helped a lot.
Kinda want to get my rail game going again.. since I never really had a rail game haha. Guess I might need to break out the girdle...

Wear a helmet for sure because I don't want to get a TBI, and it's not like helmets are for losers anymore. I did consider buying a football girdle/shorts that cover your hips and tailbone. I think POC actually makes some too. My hips have gotten wrecked falling off rails and the occasional bad fall from a jump. It would have definitely come in handy. If I ever get back into rails, I may consider it.

I would say hips, butt, and back are the 3 top things I can think of for padding.

A back protector is highly recommended for days when you're getting sendy. Pretty sure henrik is/was sponsored by slytech and wore a back protector. problem with them is unless you don't plan to always use one, the probability to bitch out will be higher if you wanna send. Not that heavy or noticeable
