Volkl Revolt 95s

A super fun ski rate it very high.

So I've just set up a pair to do a Roofbox Review so I will have a lot more time on them in say, a month. But I'm guessing you want to buy soon if you're looking at last seasons and I have skied them briefly before. From what I remember they ski pretty impressively on trails if they aren't bulletproof, but are kind of soft to rail in very hard conditions (unsurprisingly for a jib ski). They are jibby and fun in the park but I wouldn't say they appeal as a deep snow ski particularly. They are very flat in profile (low nose, low tail, low camber, mellow rocker) and have sidecut extending almost to the very tip of the ski which ends in short stubby noses/tails. The plus of that shape is it gives you maximum effective edge per size, thus they are good on trails, but it can be hooky in mixed/deeper conditions.

update: I like what I'm seeing from the reviews Ive read and found online. Anyone else have any suggestions of skis that compare to the revolts in a price range 90 but

They will be a nice upgrade over the Step and would be a better all mountain ski. As others have said, it won't be a deep powder ski but will hold a decent edge as it's stiffer underfoot with more playful tip/tails. Its stiffer overall than the Step and it's not symmetrical so performance away from the Park is hugely improved over the Step.
The Revolt factory mounting point is fairly close to center but people using it mostly out of the Park would have better all mountain performance improvements by going a few cm back from center/factory mounting line and it would still be great in the Park. About 2cm back would be golden.

Ski Essentials have a few reviews on it and they used it mostly out of the Park and loved it!

I think ive pretty much decided on getting these skis, based on my stats and these skis... Tyrolia Attack 13 or FKS 12... ive been riding girffons and have my DINs at 9ish and havent had any pre pop outs so Im not worried about the lower din settings. Also, not skiing in deep powder, just want something able to handle an occasional east coast dump alittle better than my 85mm steps. thanks!

Either binding would be great as I’ve had Look Pivots and currently have 4 pairs of skis with the Attack 13. Like the Attacks as they are light, work great and they are inexpensive. Corbetts.com/Asogear.com have great deals on both bindings you are looking at.

Revolts will not only improve soft snow/powder performance but hard snow capability as well as they are stiffer and will hold an edge better than the Step.

Maybe start a debate about Chronic Vs Revolts?
