Holiday Valley SAFETY Patrol

So if you haven't had the pleasure of encountering these fine folks, Holiday Valley has in addition to ski patrol, what they call Safety Patrol. They are basically people in yellow jackets that chase you down if you do something they deem unsafe. Share your stories below.

My only encounter was around dusk and my group went for one last glades run. It was not closed at the time. I was cookin it and came out in front of a lovely safety patrol dude. When I stopped to wait for my group, he skied down to me and told me to hold out my lift ticket and he cut it off!!!! Tf dude. The reason: a woods infraction after the trail was closed. He did the same to my other two friends. After some persuasion, I convinced him we did it by accident, because they weren't closed when we entered. My lift ticket only had about a half hour left on it anyway. Ended up getting new souvenir tickets that said safety violation and an extra hour of skiing hahahahaha. In his defense, it was high school student night so there were kids dicking around everywhere and he was probably just being overly cautious thinking we were one of them.

Literally the faggot patrol. They would stop and yell at me to put my bar down on the lift from all the way on the ground. Multiple times. One of many reasons I'll never go back there.

It is definitely super annoying but at the end of the day it's the law in NYS to put safety bars down.

I was a lifty at KB and the resort(s) can get in serious trouble legally and for insurance purposes if they do not enforce those rules

still sucks though.

It's a lot more than that, I didn't want to type out the entire story but I might as well considering the topic. The worst case was one time when I was filming a hit on a dfd in the fiddler's elbow park. I had my sister post up on the side of the lip of the dfd to film me for like 30 seconds before I rolled in to take my hit, and as soon as I took my hit and we cleared out, this ski school teacher with a group of 10+ very young kids came tearing after us, telling us that we can't do that and we're going to lose our passes. She told us we were in the way of her lesson. I politely told her that I know for a fact that she wasn't about to send 10 children over a dfd rail, and that's ridiculous. I proceeded to ski off and this safety patrol jackass chased me down the hill and basically started a physical confrontation with me, my sister, and my family at the base of the lift in front of the entire lift line. I refused to let them take our passes for something so absurd. They started grabbing at our waists and coats to try to get our passes, and if it weren't for the actual ski patrol coming over to tell them off, I probably would have punched the primary offender in the face and gotten in a lot of trouble.

I will never go back to Holiday Valley. Just too many bullshit incidents like this.
