eheath(All) Pro skiers have instagram accounts for many reasons, but they didn't become a pro skier because of their instagram account. The ability of the skier is what makes them professional, not the internet, for movies and comps.
justsenditObviously for current pros but what about skiers on the come up? Is the one with 3k followers much more likely to get picked up then the dude who just drops a couple edits on vimeo/NS a year? Not saying pros shouldnt have IG just wondering if it is possible to do without one nowadays

IsitWinterYet17Instagram was created in 2010. The superunknown competition started in 2004. Tom Wallisch won in 2007. Your argument is invalid. The point is that no you don't need Instagram to get noticed, but it will definitely help no doubt. These days having social media definitely gives you an advantage, but it isn't a requirement by any means. If you're really serious about making it big, why not pull out all the stops. It takes 2min to make an account.
