Saw an add for these on instagram, seems like a cool concept but idk how much difference the recessed edges are gonna make in a ski application vs snowboard.

driftsits been awhile, anyone try these yet?
sbarlettI'm originally from central PA, about 10 minutes from the Gilson factory. Knew of them as a snowboard company for a while and heard about the skis so hit them up to get on a pair. Have been riding them in CO this preseason so can say a few things about them. I was pretty skeptical at first about the whole extruded base design but they feel surprisingly normal on rails. If anything the edges get less wear when you land on the rail than most skis, bc the base takes a lot of the impact. But the amount the base even extrudes is minimal so that if you scissor your edge is still in contact with the rail. Really haven't seen any drawbacks with the design in the park at all. I've noticed a difference in the feel skiing them out of the park though, they require a little more to set an edge to carve/stop, but are super surfy and fun to ski. I can't imagine they would be nearly as fun on a lot of ice but they can still definitely handle it just as well as any other ski can try to. I'd say they're a solid option if you want a durable, playful all mtn/park ski. If you got more specific questions feel free to message me.
