Replying to What do you drive?

For those of us who don't live within walking distance of a lift, what do you drive to the mountain? Or probably more appropriate to this forum what does mom drive when she takes you to the ski hill?

I have a 2017 Tacoma double cab "work truck" with a bed top mount for the yakima skybox 12 for bad weather and a 2017 vw alltrack "family hauler" with the yakima box on the roof for spring days or when the forecast is clear for the duration of the trip, usually a long weekend in Tahoe. Alltrack pulls about 15mpg better than the Taco on highway trips which, from the bay area to Tahoe, the difference will buy us lunch.

I've driven in some horrific storms chained up in my old dodge neon which ruled in the snow, and a friends clapped out ford astro which sucked, and many cars in between.

I've been driving since a good portion of you were born.
