Looking for some freestyle pow skis...

I'm a freshman at the U and I'm looking for some freestyle pow skis. Lemme know what you guys think I should look at. I'm looking at the Armada JJ 2.0 right now but it's mad pricey. Lemme know if anyone tryna chill from the U. +k for local cheap-ass pow skis.

I'm pretty sure evo has the 2.0's for under $500. They also have the limited Alpine Initiative JJ's for mad cheap.

Not a fan of the JJ op...but that was the original..did they change the 2.0 a lot?....what are you looking for out of these skis? What kind of skiing, how hard, height, weight, ability?

would highly recommend not buying a pair of jj's, they are a very overhyped ski.

wait for the pro sale to happen, it usually happens sometime around now and there are mad deals, you just have to be on it. where you skiing this season?

I rode the arv 106 in the pow a bunch after I snapped my pow skis. Sure they're not a pure pow ski but they're wicked fun to send in both the park and pow. The new arv 116 could be an option too, that's what I'm picking up for this season. Living in Utah it shouldn't be hard to find someone who can hook it up with a pro form. Id also recommend hitting up second tracks, this time last year I saw a bunch of new jj's and bentchetlers from the previous seasons.

Bent Chetlers, Catamaran, JJ 116, Magnus opus, lots of options. My personal facorite is the Chetler, but i love the flex on the catamaran

What's the down low on the Catamaran? I like the Marksman but I've always thought K2 powder skis were waaaay too heavy. What would you say is comparable?

Looking for playfulness in pow and butteriness in tip and tail. Ex top ten ski racer in NJ. I charge hard man. I’m 5’10”, 150 and I guess you could say I good.

I'm a top ten racer in new jersey too, Ive never been to new jersey. Just kidding sounds like a black ops 118 would fit the bill nicley. That's what I fuck with.

Sego sloppy joe...light, poppy, buttery
Atomic Bentchetler (older versions are stiffer...if you're interested in that)...tried and true
Rossi black ops....parker white....yeah.
K2 catamaran (don't know anything on it but it seems sick)
On3p Kartel 116....on3p is dope. They make very quality stuff. Less buttery, more capable. Bamboo

If you charge as hard as you say you do, gotta get the moment bibby pro. The other skis listed are great but definitely not chargers

No dude JJs aren't chargey at all, they wanna float and pop around and never commit to big radius turns. If you're charging and come from a race background you should find a ski that wants to ski the fall line and that ain't JJs

Word well in that case it's hard for me to say but I think if you're an ex racer you're not going to like how they behave. They don't like to commit to turns and resist them in favor of an extremely loose feeling that many people love but some like me hate. As always the best but less realistic advice is that you should demo before buying. I skied JJs and then norwalks in big mtn settings and felt like I had traded my chargers for roller blades that had blown a couple lines and I hated them, but again they are well loved by so many. Very different skis than what I presume you are used to

J Skis The Friend, in 186. 114mm underfoot. Check the review on Blister Gear. Or the Line Mordecai.

J skis offers financial and you can probably find the Mordecai cheap if it's from previous seasons.

Not at all! I was at EVO Denver for the Level 1 thing and they are soooo much lighter than the pettitor, and they are mad flexy

Dude go for the 4frnt massif, or try and get last year's model (kye120 exact same ski) they are probably my favorite freestyle powski

^those look dope. YLEs are like my favorite ski and now Wiley is on the massif so yeah and 4frnt makes a high quality ski.
