I tried dating only skier chicks for a long time. I will tell you, its not worth it.
A. They get jelly if you get a powder day, new gear, want to rip with just the crew and so on.
B. Cool, down to earth and STD free skier chicks are hard to come by.
C. I'm more interested in connecting emotionally and physically than just enjoying a sport.
D you can always learn to ski, its really hard to learn not to be a bitchy hoe.

This goes both ways, and I am in no means singling out woman or skiing gals

That said, I did meet my wife working at a ski shop and she rips, not bad on the eyes and is cool shit.

To thread I def would. It would be cool if they shred but if not I'd rather somebody I connect well with than have something just based around the mtn. I'd probably force them to learn though.

I think if I could find somebody that likes to travel a bunch randomly on short notice that would be chill. I'd take that over someone who skis, or likes the same music.

One time ever I tride dating 1 non skier and tried to get them to learn. I didn't realize that some people don't want to learn... even after they make you help them get ski gear, bindings (GAVE THEM my fks pivots), the whole kit. Got pissed if I left town to go ride on weekends, guilt trips, shaming me.
Quality of life was shit. I'd take it all back if I could.

Ive only ever dated skiers and one snowboarder (bc it matters ok).
MUCH better for my health and livelihood. They ride hard and drink and have fun. You get to know their friends so going different ways some weekends is cool when eveyone is a homie and you can meet up later.
I'll never date another non rider.

jk she ripped and was fun to ride with except there were times where me and the boys wanted to go and rip more brews than turns kinda day and she was never stoked about it and long story short she's now my ex-girlfriend

To answer the op, hell yeah. Doesn't matter if she rips or not, as long as she's cool with me going up with the boys then we all good.

That being said, my lady does rip hardcore...on a snowboard. I could overlook it though ;)

I dated a girl in HS who didn't ski, wasn't really that bad cause her and everyone knew my friends and I are die hard skiers. It was chill cause I'd ski all day and we'd chill all night. But I'd rather have a skier/snowboard/skater girl, the few I've met seem super chill and down for whatever skiing or not skiing. I also don't have any other interests so I can't really connect with a typical white girl.

I enjoy dating snowboard girls over skiing girls actually as I haven't really met any skier girls that actually keep up and I seem to connect well with whereas I have been with a couple of snowboarders who can keep up in most areas on the mountain and I've got on brilliantly with.

Truth be told I used to be a snowboarder. My girlfriend is the reason why I ski. We sometimes go on weekend trips without each other. Would I date someone that doesn’t ski? Probably not because we’re gunna die together. but I love that we also understand you don’t always need to shred together.

I purposely date girls who dont really ski. Skiing is my time with the boys and with myself, and most skier girls are pretty uppity sloots in my experience.

I've dated skiers and non skiers. To me it doesn't matter, they just have to be cool with me doing my own thing. Even if we're skiing together, I might want a few laps by myself.

I married a woman who doesn't ski. It's pretty great. I have my time on the mountain where I can do what a want and I can choose who I want to go with. The only opinion that matters is mine, and after being together for 10 years, it's nice having a dedicated time where I'm all that matters.

yes, non skier seems ideal. I tried a serious relationship w a great skier who's in the industry and skis 100+ days ever year. imo she could have been a better skier but treated ski days as vacation not adventures and missions like I do. She left me.

now I'm looking for a girl who is either top ~500 skier babe in america or NOT AT ALL. Like a beginner that I can go snowboard double blues and drink beer otm all day with and doesn't interfere with my ski goals. Sounds conceited but fuck everyone who doesn't have skiing as their #1 life goal.

Yeah but two problems:
1. They don't ski
2. They think they're more important than skiing
If you're lucky unlike me and get someone who's totally cool with you skiing every weekend when there's snow then go for it. Otherwise I'd say fuck it and stay single. If they won't even try skiing don't get close AT ALL.

Possibly unpopular opinion here

After dating a badass skier chick in a ski town full of badass skier chicks here's my thoughts

1. They are super crazy. You want a chick that keeps up with the boys? Gunna be a crazy one for sure
2. Sharing skiing is awesome, but when it takes precedence over the emotion connection and having a realistic healthy relationship its just not worth it.
3. Dudes everywhere will be all over her and she will probably love it, because she probably is friends with mostly dudes because none of her girlfriends can keep up

Obviously there's alot of good about dating a skier chick too, I just have realized that being with a girl who is a super shredder is definitely not as important as being with a girl who likes to ski, but may not be the best chick on the hill

I actually prefer to. To find a girl who skis at the level you'd want her to, AND she's a cool chick. Tall order.

Much prefer to have my own hobby that I can enjoy and do apres things with my girlfriend. I wouldn't want to be with anyone 99% off the time like that. It's important to have your own hobbies/friends. They can overlap but there needs to be some individual identity IMO.

It would be sick to have a skiing SO, but not necessary. I feel like connecting with the other person should go farther from just a single sport. Personality and shit.

That being said, SO skiers I've found in the past have always been super chill personality wise, down to earth, as well as outdoorsy, which is a big turn on for me at least.

I have dated skiers and have to say that it can be both positive and negative,

Pro: can always hang out together
its hot when a girl rips
common ground

Negatives: They can get jelous
they can hold you back sometimes when you just want to ride park for a day an they don't
Its a good thing to have different interests so that you are not always doing everything together. Everyone needs their alone time.

I mean if you're interested in someone I think you should send it, regardless if they ski or not. I have only dated guys who don't ski and I kind of liked it because I like lapping the park by myself and vibing. Having your love life and skiing life separate keeps it interesting because both places can be your safe place. If you have had a shitty day skiing, you go home and unwind with yo B and vise versa if you've had a shitty night with B.
That being said, I have never dated a guy who will rip around with me so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

On topic, most important would probably to just have someone who has a life and hobby of their own, not especially skiing. Understanding each others' needs is key, not necessarily having a shared passion together. I'd even call it a detriment as skiing is a like tohers have said a safe haven and a place to shut down for a while from the mundane.

I just got out of a long-term relationship with a girl who doesn't ski. It wound up being kind of a big wedge in the relationship because we hardly saw each other during the winter between work and all the time I spent skiing. If being in the mountains is what you love, find someone you can share that with, you dig? I think it's good to have differences and all that, but it's also really rad to do cool stuff together. I don't think I'll ever date a non-skier seriously again.

I guess ideally they like the mountains and can cruise party laps at a resort w friends. But no interest in big mountain or hitting jumps or long adventures. That's for the crew-- no +1s on pow days
