How hard are the SAT's?? On a scale of 1-super hard

I'm from calgary, Canada. Ski at lake Louise. But I wanna go to uni near Lake Tahoe or in Colorado. I do ok at school, like 70s, but alberta school system is the hardest in Canada. Basically what I wanna know is how hard are the SATs?? Like should I even try???

Seems like it is all about the preparation. My dad used to teach SAT prep classes and the students that followed his plan did really well on the test. He even had a couple students get perfect scores. Do a little research and you can get practice tests and a study guide that has already been proven to work. Also it is long, almost 4 hours, so you should physically prepare yourself with good nutrition, hydration, and sleep in the days leading up to the test.

Well its more about how you think critically. It isn't about answering right, but its more about your technique for elimination of the incorrect answers. If you have a decent head on your shoulders and read (Doesn't really matter the content, more about the language that is used so you can expand your vocabulary) then you should be marginally average.

If you work at it, read challenging material which you can understand, do some some prep work for it before hand (Depends how serious you are, but anywhere from 1-3 months) then you'll do fine.

Idk where you are planning to go around tahoe,but UNR accepts literally anybody.

But idk what 70s are, what is that in like a US grade system?

Research schools first. Not everyplace even requires the SAT. Different schools weight different parts of the application differently too so what you wright and your activities might matter more than your scores. There are tons of good schools and they are all a little different. Also check out anyplace that you are interested in and don't get sticker shock. Sometimes scholarships etc. can make a school affordable.

Check out the ACT too, I thought it was easier, and a lot of schools now in the US want both ACT and SAT, or some you can just send in the better of the 2:)

This.

I found the ACT was more about speed while the SAT was more about not falling for the easy traps.

Definitely try to do both the SAT and the ACT. If you want to go to a college down here, most want at least one of the two. A good score to shoot for is 1100 and that's for a majority of the mid-lower high end colleges. As for how difficult the test is, I'd say it depends from test to test. Having a prep class really helps and makes test day a whole lot easier so also consider that. You can PM if you want and I can give you some links to online prep classes.

Like 70/100? That's like a C. The SAT basically tests how well you can take the SAT. Get the book and learn to solve stupid math problems.

imo the ACT is a better test. I got a 1270 on the SAT after my third time taking it and a 29 on ACT (which translates to roughly 1290-1320 on the SAT) after taking it once with no prep. I'm taking it again next month and I'm actually gonna study for it so I'm hoping for at least a point increase for my score.

But to answer your question, yes you should try on standardized tests. If you're well-rounded in other areas, a lower score won't be the end of the world but a high score certainly won't hurt your chances of getting in. Don't stress spending too much time studying for them though, your time will be better spent keeping your GPA up in school. Good luck!

I thought it was pretty easy, but a ton of questions in a short amount of time. I'm dyslexic and plenty of other shit. Takes me a while to figure out what a question is asking sometimes. Not a fast test taker. Got most of my answers right, but ran out of time and left a lot of shit blank.

Def gotta keep your speed up.

I swear some of the shit was like "What's 2+2?" but when there's 8,000 of those questions in 5 minutes it's fucked to get it all done. At least for me. I still did decent but I was pissed about all the points I lost not finishing sections.

no shit 70 is 70 i was asking about gpa. In SD a 70 is a D- and in NV/ a lot of the country a C-. Completely changing your gpa. which also changes how easy it is to get into school.

I know schools like UBC have a weird GPA system too. The highest GPA you can get is a 4.33. So to get a 4.0 all you need is an 86%.. but who knows how valued a 4.0 GPA is.. especially if you're trying to go to a nice graduate school/program.

Pretend you're french Canadian and take the TOEFL. Honestly, the SAT's are fairly easy if you have downs level reading comprehension skills and are able to do basic algebra/geometry.
