Moisture in my skis

If you get nasty core shots in the base it can be a problem. Skis are meant to be used in wet conditions so you shouldn't worry about it too much

If their are cuts or breaks through the top sheet to the glass or core it can be a good idea to put epoxy in them.

If the wood core gets exposed it can soak up water and ruin your skis. You can fill chips and cracks with epoxy to prevent this. I wouldn't stress unless any of the chips/cracks expose the core.

i talked it over with a friend and he said that i would most likely need a mold for most of these chips, so what would you recommend doing? just for reference, here are a few of the chips i have

Why would you need a mold?
Just slather some epoxy on there. They look pretty beat, but it might help extend their life a bit.

Yep all I did was glob some marine epoxy on a similar looking topsheet gash I had. The next time I had them in the shop for a tune they sanded it down nice and clean for me.

just put some epoxy on most of the chips, i guess we'll see how well it worked tomorrow

Next time use painters tape and form a dam where resin can pool and be shaped, rather than just being a blob all over the place. Imagine putting tape on the edge of a table so it sticks up passed the table top, on all four sides. You'd have a shallow bucket. If you poured resin in there it'd more or less add height to the table top up to where the tape is. Same idea here but only on one side of the ski. With a shallow dam, you'd fill the chips and barely modify the intact surface. It'd be a quick sanding job afterwards, if you even care since it's summer skis.

You have to pull the tape after the resin gels but before it hardens rock solid. I mean, you don't have to, but your life will be much easier if you do. This process works best with less viscous resin, obviously, but if it flows enough before it hardens or you force it you'll be fine.

Also if you want good adhesion, clean the area up with some sandpaper then clean with isopropanol or something, dry it, then do your resin work.

I've used this, mostly to repair blown edges and delam and it works wonders.

For my skis for small repairs on the top sheet i simply use poly-sticks super cheep and does the job to clean it up and make it look nice. Just drip the poly on the area and use a raver blade and a file to mold to the shape of the ski

Leave them in a room temp dry place and let them dry before sealing them shut with epoxy.
