Full Tilt Advice - B&E | Wallisch | DropKick | First Chair

Hi Folks,

Looking for some advice on Full Tilt boots -- I can't seem to find much difference, technically, between their boots (specifically B&E, Wallisch, Drop Kick, First Chair) other than Tongue flex, narrow or wide feet, and a bit of marketing-sounding things.

Does anyone know what the differences between the boots are?

For reference, I did already look on the website and couldn't find any info outside the above and my ski-style is jumping off things, trees, and the very occasional lap through the park with buddies.

I've had two pair that I've loved - I downsized too much on my current pair and paid for it last year so I need to bump back up to a 28/28.5.

If anyone can help me figure out the differences between the boots I'd really appreciate it.

From what I understand, the differences are primarily the width (descendant is wider than drop kick). After that, each boot obviously has flex differences (descendant 8 is stiffer than 6 etc) but in terms of being designed for different terrain/ski style etc...theres no difference. Twall is basically a high performance drop kick in terms of materials used and same relationship with b&e and descendant. If youre specifically looking for a FT boot for your ski style, just choose one which is appropriate for your foot size and has a good flex for your ski style/weight and go from there.

Different shell designs, different flexes, different buckles, different widths, different buckles placement, different straps.

Now I think the TW is basically a First Chair 10 with a 6 flex tongue instead and a different design (obvs). Liners are the same, shells are the same, "booster strap", etc.

The "classic" shells are basically just Raichle Flexons, they're pretty old school with the cable buckles. The classic shells also run narrower, that's the twall, drop kick, and classic. The descendant shells are wider and more "modern" with normal buckles. Thats the B&E and descendent. The first chairs are narrow and have cable buckles but they have a higher cuff which is marketed towards free ride.

b&e - wide last, 102mm, metal buckles, pro liner
wallisch - update to the classic shell, you get the pro liner which is worth the money, metal buckles
dropkick - original shell, has the plastic buckles
first chair - update to the classic shell, same shell as the wallisch except you lose the pro liner and cinch strap

Pro liner and cinch strap in the First Chair 10. Just pro liner in the 8 (regular strap).

First Chair 6 has the Performer liner while the First Chair 8 & 10 has the Pro liner.
