New quiver

Forgot to mention I'm not spinning or landing switch... So I'm open to advice on any of the new directional skis.

I've been reading the gear guides but all seem to be pushing a certain bias .... And brands

The other option is to replace the libtech FF5 with the new libtech UFO115... (Being pretty much the same ski) and find something else around 100 under foot...

Any advice?

Any reason in specific you want to stick with Lib Tech instead of trying out a new pair of sticks from a different company?

I've had rossi and Armarda arv and JJ(demo a bunch of skis too) prior to buying both the sic day 95 and lib FF5 in 2014.
Both skis are great
Sic day rip laps on groomers while waiting for a storm cycle- but still take it out of bounds and
The FF5 great out of bounds but can still stand on them and let em run and rip the groomers.
The flex of both seem to be around my sweet spot.
I went the Lib wreckreate 100 and 115 last year as I got a deal and I loved the FF5, and the flex supposed to be the same .
The flex on the wreckreate 100 should have been the same as my FF5... But it sure didn't feel like it and the 115 of course even stiffer. They both kicked my arse
Had them back in the shop 4-5 times trying to dial them in, they just kept kicking my arse, sending me straight when I wanted to turn.
I'd rather get rid of them and ride something that works for me.
Started reading the 2018 gear guides but each seem to push certain brands

Alright, I'll try to dive in here. I'm assuming you're a west coast skier so I'll make quiver recommendations based on building a two ski quiver that will slay everything west of the Mississippi.

Daily driver; your ideal daily should be in the 103-110 range, that'll give you the performance on groomers but also allow you tons of versatility off piste. Here's my daily driver rec's in no particular order:

Twin

Directional
-Moment Tahoe 106
-Line Sick Day 104

-Rossignol Soul 7 (I don't like this ski but lot's of people do)

Powder ski; this is pretty self explanatory. You should be looking in the 115+ range.

Twin

Directional

I divided the skis up between twin and directional not because one is better than the other but because personally, I think you should have continuity in your quiver. If you're on a super jibby daily driver you won't be able to ski the same way if you get on a chargy pow ski. For that reason alone, I think you should decide which direction you want to go. Obviously, the directional skis are going to be chargier in general. They have more effective edge and can really open up at high speeds. The twin skis are going to be a bit more playful, generally. Bi-directional skis will allow you to skid out turns because the tails usually feel a bit looser. You should demo before you buy but I think this is a fairly decent list to start out with.

Yeah I live on the Gold Coast and gave up skiing Australia a long time ago... all my holidays for the last 15 yrs spent heading back to Jackson WY. (you live at the beach n all you want to do is ski )
