I guarantee he will be paying money. Not sure if he'll get any hard time, but he won't be getting off easy if he is proven guilty.

I've been trying to find some news articles about it but this exact thing happened in Malibu when I was growing up. This was about a decade ago but if memory serves the kid who started it's family was fined a few million.
