SofaKingSicki love how accessible (and free!) content is nowadays, dont get me wrong. but a small part of me misses when movies were a huge deal because that was mostly it for the year, with equally important write ups like this

You also can just post reviews on Newschoolers if you ever feel like it.. but if you want to apply to be an actual member of the journalist team you'll have to talk to Twig.

The guy who directed/edited Blunt and edited Session 1242 had a sarcastic review of his own film (Blunt) on here, and this ws waaay before the time a troll/trolling even meant anything to the average interwebs browser of skiing enthusiasts.
I don't remember his name, nor did I look at this guy's reviews, but food for thought - get more skiers, producers, filmers, handymen on the phone and some fucking good interviews out there.
I've read some of the recent "interviews" on here and frankly they are shit. Where's Schmuck, what happened to him?

Twig and the crew are ramping up hard on the good shit. I don’t actually think you’ve been reading enough of what is coming out. That might be our fault for inconsistency... but trust me it’s happening right now.

I can't say much about this Revision Skis thing since I don't know anything about it except for this article.
As for the Basedjah's original post and review, my point still stands. It's good to have material here, for sure, but look at it again:

And that's pretty much it. I know I'm being a cunt and I'm just waiting for Abortionator to post the "It's time to stop" gif for me here. For Doug, the issue I'm bringing up is the same if not worse as five years ago; who is reading all the text among the pictures and videos?
My criticism of the front-page "articles" in the past few months I've seen them are valid. I think they read more like ads or fanboy letters, at least the ones who end up on the front page. Maybe they're good for the audience you seek (?), but I think you can do better.

We just have an open application system. If people write a few news articles, they are automatically submitting to join our freelance journalist crew. Same as you do with a mag, except yes - people on here get to read the submissions vs. them hiding inside an editor's desk.
But we absolutely pay for content. We have for quite a while.

The most popular one was just ripping on Freeskier so if I wrote something else, it'd probably be on The Bunch and that shitty "new wave" style where they try to make sloppy-ass skiing seem purposeful and steezy when in reality, they just fucking suck at park skiing and it still looks horrible. It may also explore the mentality illness of more "established" park skiers who change their style completely in order to look more trendy, even if it means looking like a complete tool... like The Bunch. This is all outside of Magnus who is actually good at what he does.
