Looking for All Mountain Playful Skis

Volkl Kendos are NOT playful or twin tip. Based on what you say you're looking for (and without knowing your height/weight/ability), I'd recommend the ON3P Kartel 98's, Line Blend's, and Armada ARV 96's. The Line's are the most playful of the three but the Armadas and ON3Ps are relatively playful while remaining super stable. Durability wise, all three brands are pretty good. I've owned multiple pairs of Lines and only had a few problems after putting a ton of hard days on them so I'd say they hold up pretty well. I've also had two pairs of Armada JJ's which were fantastically durable but they have a strong, textured topsheet that might be to thank for that. As for the durability of the ON3P's, I think that's what they're known for so you shouldn't have to worry about any problems from them.

I'd recommend looking into the Sego Big Horn 96 (they also have a 106 model). They have a really nice flex pattern, definitely stiff enough to handle speed in choppy conditions but do well all around. Yup! They also have a softer and more park/freestyle oriented ski called the Tater Tot. It's going to be a little softer but more playful. 108 underfoot and buttery.

People have mentioned a few awesome skis above, I'd throw the K2 Poacher and 4FRNT Vandal in there too. The K2's are mad durable, can really take a beating

my go-to suggestion for this style of ski setup these days is armada arv96 and tyrolia attacks. look pivots if you dont mind some extra weight and cost

As another Oregon native I can recommend the Icelantic Nomad line with confidence that you'll be able to take on anything with them. I've ridden the Nomad 105s and 115s, both of which are amazing skis with a nice, playful flex pattern but still able to rip at mach 10 down groomers and steeps. I own the Icelantic Gypsys (now the Nomad 125s) and the Gypsy SKNYs as my go to pairs of skis for anything. Their durability is unmatched from anything i've seen so far from other companies which is also a plus if you like to get the most out of a pair of planks.

Fatypus M5 is definitely the ski for you. Lighter than ON3P, thus they are more jiby/playful. Easy to butter, yet still very stable at speed. Also, the 5 point shape means these things can rip carves in any conditions.

A good option for a low cost might be too look for any past season Blizzard Regulators. Its been the same ski for 3 seasons other than the top sheet changing color and design. You can probably find a pair of 2016's in a 179 for well under $400. It's 94mm underfoot with a full wood core. 20 meter turn radius and is good in all conditions. Its not super soft like a park ski. More of an "all-mountain twin". I put about 25 days on a pair and they still look really good. The last 5 days were in very warm spring conditions with low snow and lots of bumps and they hardly got beat up.

The Volkl Kendo is a pretty sweet ski. But...it isnt a twin. just some knowledge to keep in mind is that it has metal in it so its a solid edge hold on groomers and can blast through crud at the end of the day. Also, even though it has a sheet of metal, its still pretty forgiving. And, at 90mm in the waist, it's pretty versatile.

Another option could be the Dynastar Slicer. 98mm underfoot with a full wood core. It has a different core than most. Still wood but they lay the wood in sections at different lengths. Almost like steps. You can really only see it if you look closely. Helps with the flex in different conditions and/or terrain. Even though its 98mm wide, it is still able to shred on piste or hard pack. Its soft, but not too soft.

They aren't a true twin symmetrically if that's what you are asking. The tail is a little narrower. That's what makes it an "all-mountain twin". but i dont have any problems with that IMO.

Word no I just meant are the tails as high as the tips? I don't have any interest in symmetrical skis either
