Until 5 minutes ago I had no idea what a social chameleon was haha or that their was a name for it I guess. So youre telling me normal people don't change/adapt how they act in front of different individuals or have a large variety in the different type of friends they have? On a personal level I feel like I am also a social chameleon. Damn that really shed some light on a side I myself I was confused about. Thinking about it I guess it kinda makes sense. Very interesting...

I kinda felt the same way that thought of "everybody must act this way" but then I got into the workforce and started interacting with more than just friends. Most people certainly do not change their personality to adapt to social settings. Its super helpful in life to be like this, but its important to still know who you truly are.

Oh ya, remembering who you truly are definitely holds importance. Since if you're constantly adapting, changing to meet quotas and relate with vastly different people or social settings you risk contradicting how your true self would feel.

Looking back on conversations I've had recently though I feel like I still have a "base" personality but I still definetly adapt to different people by showing different aspects of myself. Like for example if I'm with an extremely introverted friend I might act more introverted, but if I'm with a more open extroverted group of friends I'll probably also act more open, highlight different interest and maybe change my choice of words (swearing, etc...). But I'm pretty sure I'm consistent with who I truly am at heart as person, stay true to my values and that I don't contradict myself or lie to appeal to a certain group or individual. Pretty crazy to think about really...
