Whistler Train Gap Bike Jump

Has anyone on here hit this? Kenny smith train gap jump.

My main goals for summer 2018
1. Fly to Canada
2. Hit Momentum for adults week.
3. Rent the meanest and most stupidly-expensive downhill bike available
4. Hit this jump
5. Try not to die
6. If number 5 succeeds then hit Whistler Bike park for a week or two.

Done a fair bit of research into it, not been able to find an exact location for it yet, but I know it's between Whistler and a town called Pemberton. On google maps you can see the train tracks running between the two, so I'm guessing I'll just ride alongside the tracks until I spot it. And hope it's still in usable condition.

(Just for the record I am an experienced downhill biker, not hit anything like this before though)

But seriously I've done a bit more looking into it and apparently CN Rail have changed up the landing to make it impossible to land now. so fucking gay

Said in original post I've not done anything that big, but there's a first time for everything isn't there.

Off the top of my head I'd say the Zougouloukata black run in Chatel, France has some of the biggest jumps I've done. Youtube it. (no vids of me).
The jumps aren't of the same proportion but it takes a fair bit of skill to nail that course, I can get down it fairly fast these days.

Also those jumps don't have a 100m straight line run-up unlike the train gap. They come up at you pretty quickly and if you don't maintain momentum you're going down in an Ambulance.

I'm not claiming to be Gwin or Semenuk, but I'm a confident biker and if you don't keep pushing yourself then what's the point doing it anyway. if it scares you then that means you're doing it right.

Well it looks like you've made up your mind already, if the jump is still there just remember to film it and if you don't make it have your friends upload it to Liveleak afterwards.

Well I can't even guarantee the jumps even there anymore judging by random forum quotes, there's no solid evidence it's gone but if it is I'll be disappointed. Guess I'll just have to enter ( and probably win) Red Bull Rampage 2018 to piss off skierman. Looks like a walk in the park imo

Alright OP, so my friend informed me that the infamous train gap does stil indeed exist but is actually in Squamish BC and not whistler. Good luck finding it.

it's a fairly high risk, high speed jump that doesn't even seem all that large. The main part of that jump that impressed me was going over the train itself, but lets be completely honest, whistler has larger jumps than that gap.

if you want to go for it, have fun but it seems like too large of a risk to be worth it, unless you actually go over a train.

Yeah would certainly be better actually going over the train itself, but I don't think it comes very often at all. Like once a week or something stupid. So won't count on it.

It's in the rutherford, bottom of dieselwolf. Dieselwolf itself is a fuckin sick super steep trail, last feature of trail is this gap.

Still in the UK, moving to Canada on the 18th June to work in Panorama MTB resort, about 10 hours drive from Pemberton.
Maybe after the season ends.....
