Looking for a new set of planks this year, and looking to get a mountain-oriented pair (only had racers and park skis previously; something something living in Minnesota) to keep me afloat on those occasions when I can get out to the real hills.
Through testers' reviews and my own observations, I've picked out a handful of interesting models, listed below. I'm looking for any input or experience on the listed models, and for other recommendations if you think it'd be better than these.
Requirements: I'm an aggressive skier. I need stability, and stiff flex is a must. Must be wide enough to stay afloat in soft (looking at 95~115 waist). Low camber is good, rockered tip & tail is better. Obviously, lighter weight is better. And of course it needs to be stable at speed on pack, though I've found this usually comes naturally with the stiffer flex.
Models I'm interested in:
- Nordica Enforcer 100
- Blizzard Bonafide
- Armada Invictus 99 Ti
- Rossignol Soul 7
- Armada Tracer 108
- Icelantic Nomad 115
- any other recommendations
Note: Even though I've mentioned stiff flex being a requirement, I don't know if these models fit that; it's hard to find that information online.
Thoughts?
