Go with the chronics?

I am looking to get my first set of skis. I have skiied on rentals every weekend for 10 seasons. I am mostly in the park anymore, but I still want to be able to play around on the rest of the mountain. I have been looking, but I'm unsure with path to take.

i'd go with something a little wider/more all mtn oriented than chronics, something with a waist width of 95 or so and some stiffness

what ill say more strongly is that squires arent made for big guys like you. they get a lot of reports of blowing up even on your typical scrawny park rat kid. get some tyrolia attacks, theyre still cheap and light but way better than squires

Yes, absolutely do not get squires. Those bindings are meant for little kids, and you will break them in a matter of weeks. I think the 185 Chronic could be a good ski for you, depending on how aggressive you ski. If you are skiing hard and putting a lot of energy into your skis, you will want something longer than the 185 or more waist, both which equate to a different ski, as mentioned above.

Take a look at the 184 Poachers from K2, really fun ski for no compromise between park / all mountain. Should fit in your budget nicely with some Tyrolias too!

The Domain's are a pretty specific ski because they're soft flexing and have zero camber, so for a buttery style of skiing they'd be really fun but they're gonna have hardly any pop and be pretty unstable when it comes to all mountain skiing, especially if you ride them fast and in firm/choppy snow. If that sounds like what you're after then go for it but if you want something a little more chargey there's better options. Nordica Soulrider could be another one to check out

I snapped the baseplate of a pair of marker squires in half landing switch once, but either way you should look into buying something like tyrolia attacks or look pivots.

Yea man that could be a dope setup if you want to make the most of the park / all mountain split for sure! Could save a bit of cash by just getting a standard Griffon and mounting it at like -2 or 3 from centre, would work well for both. The griffons way sturdier than the squires

If your running on a budget this is also a ski you could definetly consider. Basically OP just scope out some deals, last years skis will be on sale since it's summer too.
