Hestra mitts are by far one of the best purchases I've ever had.

I've rocked those kinco work gloves when I was a lifty and they were cool but having to re-waterproof them nearly every week sucked a dick. Waterproof my hestras like once a month throughout the season and theyre still bitchin.

Damn what product do you use to seal? I've never had to do my kinkos more than a few times a year, and mostly in the spring when shit is wet. And I like the all leather gloves in general for the durability. Then again I'm fucking with bailing wire and shovels and tools and shit so my gloves get beat up a lot.

The high end mitts like hestra are really cool, but I shred them too easily. If I were just freeskiing I'd use them too.

ill get back to you on that, my tub of wax is up in PC at my parents house in their workshop. But its some shit you can buy at like Home Depot for real cheap. It does wonders.

I got those fall line mitts on Backcountry like 2 years ago. They're like heaven dude. I have skied plenty days where its like -5 to -10F+ below and my damn hands sweat like no kidding. Best skiing investment ive made, all my other shit is haggard to no end. but ski bums make due sometimes I guess lol

Pair of 200 euro Puma running shoes. Bought them in 2005 and they're still going strong, no real visible sign of wear, no tear and they have been heavily abused. I need to get new everyday shoes almost annually so I have no idea what magic they're made of but it was a good and lucky investment.

I have the Genesis tomahawk, which is like probably the nicest 'low end' board. I could buy three of them for the price of one Boosted, and a boosted is belt driven so it doesn't coast like a normal board.

The battery is interchangeable, so you can roll with an extra in your backpack to double your range. And you can swap out for any normal deck you want to put it on, which is cool. I get about 9 or 10 miles on one charge, top speed of 20 mph. It can climb mellow hills pretty well. If the hill would scare you to bomb down it probably won't climb it very well, but with some practice I learned this push + accelerate technique that I do to get up steep hills without walking.

A man should own a quality leather wallet, and a nice watch.

I have kept the same leather gucci wallet in my back pocket for 11 years. That includes multiple winters skiing, and 2 years in Iraq. The thing just won't quit. But you don't have to buy something that expensive. Generally as long as it's made from a quality leather, and hand stitched by someine who cares will do the trick.

Watches don't have to be super expensive. But a brand like Citizen will last you way longer than the faux luxury brands they sit next to in stores like Macy's. I have one as my daily driver, and something nice and automatic for stepping out.

On the ski front quality outerwear is worth the price. As well as ski's from a company like ON3P.

for ~$40 more than a cheap 100 lumen option, I can actually see in front of me and don't worry about cars not seeing me. Also people actually think it's a car headlight. Totally worth it.

If you clean/maintain it regularly, it should last a long time. Might have to get a few cheap parts here and there.

I've seen Stihls be put through some abuse and they still go a dozen years or so at least.
