What are y'alls opinions on them. They really seem like a game changer imo.
I can't remember seeing much about the on here but could be wrong.

eheathMight help a few people throw some big tricks, especially young guys looking to progress faster. I dont really like the idea of it, but nothing i say or do will change that.
Swandog7Explain more? Is it because it promotes skiing in a direction you disagree with? IMO it is a game changer... You can get too good too fast, almost unfair for people who have access it to it early on than those who don't, maybe thats what you don't like about it idk. Im gonna go try the one in PC in a few weeks for the day and see what the hype is about
eheathI mean every great skier you know has learned huge tricks just trying them and falling. This bag just makes it easier for less skilled skiers to try harder more dangerous tricks, which might not really be the best idea. Its not necessarily cheating, but i just dont like it.
Also, these bags are bound to hurt someone, landing backseat on that thing is going to hurt someones knee eventually...
Titus69I only agree with you because I used to compete with all the academy kids who get to train on bags. They can dub 10 but can't make an upright spin look clean, and all they do are fucking corks. They can only flip when it requires spinning more than a 3 or 5.
However I'm sure some of the greats didn't just go try switch dub without either going into the powder, or using trampolines. Bags are great though, both times I used one I landed all the inverts i did on the bag, first try on snow. But yes landing on a flat one sucks, and this angled landing could easily destroy someone.
eheathI dunno man, sure plenty of skiers have hit water ramps in the past, maybe a jump into pow, but no way a pro skier tried a sw dub on a pow jump first time, ive seen so many guys just chuck dubs on normal park jumps their first try. Maybe its more normal now, but 10 years ago no way.

HolteMammoth had one a few years back. It was... okay. The crew running the bag was saying they're more fragile than traditional bags, take way longer to set up, they have to be placed on a slope at the perfect angle, and are significantly more expensive, which is why Mammoth only has traditional air bags now. I can enjoy hucking sketchy stuff onto a bag every now and then, but honestly standing at the top of an airbag waiting for people to drop and clear out is just incredibly boring.
theabortionatorThe whole point of the angle is no compression like a regular bag. Also you can spot the landing as you travel as you would on snow. I'm not sure how this "could easily destroy someone".
Titus69I can just imagine knee injuries are very possible since they're going pretty big while sending 2+ flips. Not saying it's a bad design or anything, it's better than a normal flat air bag, and is an accurate substitute for snow. landing on that thing especially switch seems weird though.
theabortionatorWatching the videos reminds me of when people kick their board out on vert tricks. Super smooth. I'mt not saying injuries aren't possible but it seems super mellow.

eheathI mean I hope no one gets hurt, just seems sketchy but peope are stoked on it. Thall hit it today and was hyped, but im still a bit bothered by it.
firecrotchCan someone post a link?

DeepskierEither way I don't have access to one. so I get to watch the PC kids that are already way better than me progress even faster. And Im over here with a shit park and now they are not making a pipe anymore so idk what the fuck ima do.
ozzywrongSave money and move simple .. stop bitching about people that have it better than uou.. go steal stuff from construction sites and find a lake and build your own water ramp.. where there is a will there is a way..
DeepskierI'm not bitching I'll do what ever the fuck I want to
ozzywrongUse that energy and go build your own water ramp learn future spins and then go to x games win big air and get paid.. and stick it to all the little rich pc kids with access to the ramp that you can't hit..
h.robargeThe PC bag costs $10 per 2-hour session to hit it.....
LonelyGood way for kids to progress, but I'm worried this is another way that skiing becomes compartmentalized. There will be a generation of kids with overprotective parents that will only let them hit bags. Because of how quickly they learn that's all they'll want to do. Then comps start using them because it's all the next generation knows how to do. Less kids focus on being good skiers. Why would you want to be good alk around if you can throw triples?
Imo it's a nice way for people to progress safely, but potentially dangerous for the sport.
Titus69Are you saying that when these kids go "skiing" they're going to just hit the airbag? If a parent sees their kid landing backflips every time I think they'll know he could do it on snow.
LonelyI'm just wondering if airbags will cause a decrease in motivation to progress on snow. Why risk hurting yourself if you could do it on a new airramp and be much safer?
Freestyle skiing has always been a mixture of risk and reward. With airbags you take out the risk but still have the reward. Idk it's just a thought.

CadenmcculloughJudging by the videos I have seen of the new pc bag, it looks so fucking sick. Honestly think it could be better than the water ramps.

nellyyyNS coming full circle, episode 97,831:
Jon Olsson, circa 2007: "I assume you talk about me with the " retarted amount of sponsor money to build a jump to the exact same specifications of your water ramp jump" and I think you might be bliind...A water ramp looks like a freestyle double.... I am pretty sure a freestyle double is pretty far from a 70 foot step up... 2 compleatly differnt jumps... And no, we did not pay to have this jump made... but they made it for us because we worked our as of for the last 7 years, getting us to where we are....Spriggs, stop beeing a dumbass...."

SofaKingSickhaha yeah, IIRC that post was also calling out matt walker's comment
