I'm looking for an all-mountain/park ski that I'll be able to hit jumps and some rails with. I'm looking for basically a fatter park ski. I'm 6'2", 200 lbs and was probably going to get something around 185cm with a 95-105mm waist. Trying to decide between the poachers and the blends because I've had K2 domains and line chronics before, and they felt pretty much the same to me. Something with stability at high speeds but a decent amount of flex would be ideal.
I went from domain -> poacher and I will never go back. The domains felt so dead and unstable to me with the zero camber, Poachers are stiffer but still really fun with the slight rocker. Besides pow days I skied all last season on Poachers and had so much fun I'm getting another pair for this season (the tails pretty much blew out when I slipped off a tube backwards and slammed them into the end, my fault). I haven't skied on Blends for more than a few runs so I can't make a fair comparison to those.
Yea I'd go with the Poachers if stability at high speed is something you want specifically. The blends are crazy fun if you're looking for something really flexy and playful but they definitely aren't super stable. The Poachers are actually pretty stiff but still feel easy and playful and plenty stable at speed.
poacher all day. its a good stiff ski for all mountain use. blends are noodles compared to the poacher. if you like to carve (you know turn on edge) youd want the poacher over the blend.
