Whistler Jobs for Australian's

Just after some advice on the best way to land a job in whistler for an Aussie. Preferably lifty but will cop most things. When and where is the best place to apply?
Are agencies worth paying?
Chances of getting staff housing?
Any suggestions would be great.

I got hired as a liftie for next year. Admittedly it's a little easier for me because I'm Canadian, but you can email them for more info. You'll need special permits and stuff. If you get hired you'll be entitled to staff housing so that's not an issue.

Just apply on the Whistler site and you'll be fine, an agency is a waste of cash. That's what I did as a Brit.
Staff housing is for first year staff so you should be fine with that.

Don't think they like having Aussies working in Whistler though...

Apply at Big White, it's also in BC Cananda, about 5 hours from Whistler.
I'd go as far as saying 50% + of employees there are Aussies, seems you can just walk in and be offered a job there and then if you're from Australia / New Zealand. can't get away from them!

Along with Big White, check out Silver Star. Pretty chill mountain with some decent terrain. Once again I'd say 50%+ staff is from Aus. I did my Level 1 CSIA course at the start of the season last year and got hired within a week of finishing it. I also was only there for two months and they were cool with it. HMU if you need more info.

Apologies, that was sarcasm (hard to convey via the interwebs) at least 70% of the staff I met in staff housing were Aussies.... it's known as Whistralia for a reason, you ever been there on Aussie day?

Didn't know Whistler was a hot spot as well. It's cause it's a piece of piss for Aussies to get a working holiday visa in Canada, it's fucking annoying as us Brits have to wait months (10 months and counting for myself particularly). If you're Australian with no criminal record you're almost guaranteed a visa, that's what I was told by my Aussie flatmates.

Tell me about it, my visa application was such a ballache, had to get it done in under 12 minutes or that's it, wait until next year. Fucked. Bloody Aussies just stroll in
