ZypherWow the detail is amazing... which skis? What for? What size? Etc...
RidiculousSorry man,
Whip It or Allplay
I meant in durability and the effort it takes to ride those (heavy, easy to throw tricks, soft?)
I skied for 10 years now, but just started out skiing park last year.
Started skiing rails this year, can't get quit comfortable yet.
I first got the Blends, they were nice to ride but i had durability issues and i thought they were a little too heavy (I'm 5'8 and weigh 141lbs, not the strongest guy)
ZypherYou're good man. I've ridden the whip it's and liked them a bit. I'm a bigger dude than you, 5'9 165, and could easily flex out the whip it's to insane amounts. Their base durability leaves room for improvement and their top sheets are much like lines - very chippy. For a beginner park ski they would be awesome. Light, snappy, softer, etc... I just didn't like them because I ride big mtn and super aggressive so I like stiffer and heavier skis in general.
RidiculousWow, this was the answer i was hoping to get, thanks! I can get them on sale for 400, what binding would you choose? I think the attack 13 or griffons would be good, have my DIN set at 6.5
ZypherI won't give you any din advice because that's something the user should decide. Get a feel for the release and change the din accordingly. Attack 13s are amazing bindings tho. I have four pairs mounted and an extra pair laying around along with some attack 16s. I usually keep my dibs in the 9-11 range depending on the skiing I'm doing

VailValleySkierAlso just to let you know, I've been lucky enough to test whipits with a new prototype top-sheet and they're holding up much better compared to what they used to be. I've spent over 3 months on the prototypes with no major damage whatsoever to the top-sheet, compared to my other pair of whipits who's top-sheet fell apart within two weeks of riding. So expect significantly higher quality top-sheet material from here on out from J Skis.
RidiculousThanks, so should i wait for them to release there new skis?

ZypherHey that's good to know man. I've always wanted to get a pair of the Friends but never went through with it due to my experience on the whips. Guess now that my complaints have been dealt with, they could be a cool option.
VailValleySkierI have the Tune Out version of the Friends and haven't had any similar issues compared to the pair of whipits I almost completely ruined in a matter of weeks. I've skied them for two full winters now and have only had one small chip from a rock I hit (should of been more damage). That being said I'm pretty sure the top-sheet issues are specific to the whipits.
SharkoHow are those Friends? I know I shouldn't buy skis because of the graphics, but every time I see those I feel like I have to have a pair.

frickindarnI ride the Whipits with marker squires at 7.5.
Literally my second favorite ski I've ever been on. They're poppy, fun, lightweight and they swing around so easily.
They're not AS responsive as I'd like in the trees but I don't spend a lot of time in the trees on them.
also 5'9" 175 on 171s(?)
CharlzHubDefinitely go with Attacks over Griffons, I’ve skied both and I’d choose my Tyrolias every single time.
Just out of curiosity, what were your first favourite skis?
GperryI’ve had Allplays and have been skiing on them for 2 seasons now. They are even better than I ever wouldve expected, and my expectations were pretty high. The amazing graphics are only a plus in contrast to the durability, flex, and performance of the ski. As for the durability, I’ve had them for 2 seasons, riding about 25-30 days per season, mainly in the park. In addition I took them to liberty university which was a summer camp where you ride on this fake snow material and they ended up being fine. The only complaint I have is that I wish they were symmetrical but overall the ski is 100% worth the money
