Nicholas Goepper is the greatest skier alive. You could even say he’s the Jon Olson of our generation. He is not just another manufactured freestyle skiier, he is a complete masterpiece. He is not someone that is being controlled by sponsorships. Goepper is singlehandedly one of the most innovative and unique athlete of this decade. He is a style genius, his rotations are experimental, innovative, unique, he isn’t afraid to experiment, he is constantly evolving and changing his style. Nick, from the beginning, has always pushed boundaries and has continued to make progressive tricks that others could only hope to imitate. His legs are his instruments. He wants you to look beyond just the flips and spins. They are there just to complement his style, they are an application of the body as an instrument rather than a medium for judges scoring and competition. His edits and his street segments are something that no one else is doing. Nick Goepper obviously isn’t a Wallisch/Magnus type of skiier with outstanding technical abilities but he still manages to ski better than them. His olympic slopestyle finish, at Sochi, is an extremely introspective and personal feat of accomplishment. It allows you to better understand the perspective and emotions of a young Nicholas. His influence has become a bridge for white youth to enjoy the art of the inner city and empathize with the likes of Goepper and that is what is so wonderful about skiing. We are able to see who he really is and understand him. The 2014 post trial of criminal misdemeanor shows that he is a surprisingly soft-spoken and confident young man and it gives you all the more reason to care about him. There was no Nick Goepper before Nick Goepper. He is not emulating anyone, he isn’t trying to be anyone. He has no influences. When one-hour special on NBC television and TSA pre-check commercial came out of nowhere, everyone loved it because no-one has ever seen something like it. He has accomplished so much at such a young age, can you imagine what his skiing is going to be like in 5 years?
I want Nick to make an edit under some alias. Have him wearing some gypsy outfit and a Tommy Hilfiger hat or some shit. Then film him and post it. NS would jizz all over that shit.. But if he made the exact same edit with his normal outfit, everyone would say shit like "still no style" or some shit like that.

One time Nathan Goepper threw a rock at my car, and so I also threw one because I wanted to be cool. It was at that moment I realized I don't actually own a car. You're shitting on goepper for wearing red bull as a sellout when it's his job to do so, along with other "sellout" companies. I get what you're saying but you can't shit on one person when every other pro athlete does it.
Also there is no bigger sell out currently in park skiing than Gus, in my opinion. Not starting shit on gus but just sayin.
i'm not sure i've ever seen a newschool skier with as much control in the air and on rails as Nick Goepper.
as a fan of the sport, his technicality and control is unmatched, historically. and i don't say that lightly - i used to work for PBP and Freeskier Mag, so I saw all of the old legends in the flesh and blood.
stylistically, he is improving a ton when he sticks with the basics. his recent edits are so much doper than any X Games or Olympic run I've seen him do.
i'm not going to root for him during competitions - I like other riders' styles much better - but I know that just about no one can beat him when the game is spin to win.
