Replying to Has anybody here used Air BnB?

I'm trying to plan a small trip kind of quickly out to the coast and have never used Air Bnb before. I saw some pretty neat places, seaside too, but don't want to get invested if most people have had crappy experiences.

So have any of you successfully used Air BnB? Is it worth it vs just going and getting a hotel? I just liked the whole idea of being able to rent out a cottage for a couple nights. Rather than getting a hotel and having to listen to everybody breathe through paper thin walls haha.
