seems to be ok at snoqualmie. looks like they're not cool with it at alpental, which seems strange, but maybe they don't want people hiking to the permanent-closure stuff? either way, you should be good as long as you're not drawing too much attention to yourselves
wrichmondYou're on national forest land. Those uphill travel rules only apply when snowcompton is open during the season.
After that is whatever you want
treebeardfrom their website: "At Alpental during the operating season uphill use is allowed ONLY WHEN THE AREA IS OPEN TO CUSTOMERS. When Alpental is closed to customers, it is closed to uphill travelers."
I'd guess Snoqualmie is public land, meaning uphill travel is cool whenever. Alpental must be private
CaseyThat is more for like hiking up on Monday when they could potentially be bombing. A guy I work with loves to fight with patrol about touring in the ski area, I don't understand why patrol would care one way or another if the area is closed, it's not like there's going to be anyone there to come save you.
I just toured around silver Fir last Saturday, there were like 2 or 3 other casual groups, no one cared at all it was fun.
Mattgeraghty3I guess that if its private land they could be in some way liable for you if you hurt yourself in bounds by say hiking into avvy terrain or a spot they haven't bombed yet
