I would suggest the older chets...like 2011 model...they are stiffer but still playful, and there are plenty floating around for super cheap. the 193s charge hard for a playful ski.[/QUOTEI would definitely recommend the Bent chetlers I have a pair of this seasons models and they have stiffened them up by adding a carbon back bone but they're still super playful. I skied mostly inbounds this season and couldn't recommend them more
Deepskiervery chargeable (Norwalk)
tahoearmada20Sofa King: Ive never heard anyone say they have trouble straight lining on the armada deepEST skis but I guess we all prefer different sticks

Profahoben_212honestly i think there are better skis out there for you. a lot of skis will do better in variable snow..aka resort. moment bibby pro, atomic bentchetler, on3p jeffrey. DeepskierOk so Im in the market for a pow ski... Ill mainly use these for inbound skiing sun valley, so steep and deep, but tight trees and a lot of pillows....
Alfonso318I'm over in Boise and have 190 Magic Js if you wanna come take a look at em... I can share my experience with the JJ, Norwalks and Magics since I've ridden them all in similar lengths
DeepskierHmm alll right well I am far from joking when I say I have less than 0 dollars right now so if I did just know if we cut a deal it would have to be traded only and the more I look at the black ops the better it looks and I know for sure I can get 35% off whole on them and a good chance I could get them free which is a very hard deal to beat but like I said I'm an armad whore and would love to come look at em
-wakes-As the past owner of a JJ, buy the cartel 116...
DeepskierMeh im not crazy about bamboo skis but I would be into a custom pair of 108s if they were cheaper.
ZypherIcelantic Nomad 115 or 125? Worth a look imo because they are chargy when needed but still slashable and able to turn in trees with ease. Also the Atomic Chets and Automatic 117s would be good skis to check out because they seem up your alley.
Any reason for armada? I wasn't completely impressed by the JJs I got compared to other pow skis i have (Bibby Pros and Gypsys (nomad 125s)) and the ar7s I had a while back were somewhat lackluster in everything but park. I've even went to demo days plenty of times and tested Armadas but they never did much for me.
DeepskierWell I'm going to try to get the black ops, if I can get them free or significantly cheaper than the arv 116 ill do that if not ill just grab the arv 116. I do really with is had racebase or at least die cut racebase. Quiver might look kind of funny if I get a pair of the arv 96, 116 and ar8 zero will be purple mad steeze all over. IMO seems kind of weird armada doesn't have a ski like the one im looking for, they could just add some rocker to the tip and tail of the Norwalk or just make a narrow magic J or a stiffer JJ with a little wider radius.
.lenconThen it would defeat the purpose of the JJ. A quick, playful powder ski.
If you want something more chargier from armada get the ARV 116 or the magic J.
If you don't want those then get some ON3P kartel 116s

SofaKingSickFor what it's worth im pretty sure the norwalks have some tip rocker
DeepskierThey do but as said above they also want to make dad turns I guess. I mean the ideal pow ski for me is a 115ish waist, 21m-ish radius. Flex: 5/6/7 tip, 7/8 tail, 8/9 underfoot (gets progressively softer as you go out from underfoot with no buckle points). Profile I want a very small amount of camber with a large amount of tip rocker and medium amount of tail rocker but with a very tall tail. I want the tail to sink a bit but the nose to float a lot, race base, dope graphics and pretty poppy, still charges on groomers and through crud. I know its a tall order so something would probably have to be given up, unless you got customs or you built them yourself (im attempting to build it this summer.) But idk if any company makes that ski so. IMO the 2013 spaceman norwalks are worth it just because they are hot as fuck and id just deal with a small tail.

ZypherLol wait, take a look at the Moment Jaguar Sharks from a few years back. Pretty much exactly what you're looking for. They pretty much are the Belafontes with a 115 waist and softer overall flex pattern. Still chargy af and have the dropped tail, minimal camber, and big tip rocker.
Profahoben_212buddy owns these...pretty dope ski actually and definitely pretty close to what he wants. They are quite a few years old though, so they might be a little hard to find but they are definitely a dope ski.
Profahoben_212My god we have simular taste. If you end up building that ski let me know gaga

Used to work for them but they moved out to Golden, CO and I couldn't leave Oregon. Make a solid product and you can work with Kristin to design a dope top sheet and Mike with all the ski specs and details.
Deepskier
Looks shitty cause its a screenshot but this is the top sheet.
ZypherCy Whitling style?
DeepskierYessir
Zypher+1 for that. Some of the dopest designs around!
