So I got the beta of the Newschoolers app and it is amazing. Very smooth and no bugs yet. Everything we hoped for. Thoughts?

Try out the search too... its still pretty shitty but vastly improved over the current desktop version.

The idea of having separate forums for different kinds of discussion almost feels very 2005 these days. I get it.

Yeah I totally understand the motivation for the splits but I think too much of it hurts more than it helps

hmm looking at it now i can't make any suggestions that i don't think people would (understandably) squawk about. the WTB forum should def be merged with sell/trade but that's hardly what we're talking about here

yeah, googling site:newschoolers.com + search words works super well. no need for any site to spend time/money making a good search bar IMO

unless you're jailbroken theres not really a solid reason to hold onto 8.4
10.3 is buttery smooth and very stable

Do you have an iPhone 4? If not, it's probably good to update haha. I was staying on an older iOS until my phone legitimately got hacked. Read online and people said to update your iOS. I did that and it never happened again. (It happened a few times)

You want the truth? I think you know without me saying it. People are lazy. It is too much of an inconvenience for people to move around the site and go to the correct forum with a couple clicks. it's ridiculous.

The way the forums are split up is effective and easy to understand. and btw WTB put into sell/trade would be a complete mess. It's dialed in pretty nice the way it is now with maybe a few minor tweaks

I don't know if I so much blame laziness as I do simply accept that it's what people are used to.

I mean what app you use these days isn't almost entirely single feed based? At least the social ones as far as anything I know are all like that.

What could be cool is if we look at having a page somewhere (in the future) that has all the forums in one list or something.

Were adding forum threads back to the homepage in the app. That could be interesting. We used to have it back in like 2012.

App is sooo nice. It's also cool to see our input affect the app directly. I definitely like the important tabs being at the bottom of the screen.

Yeah I mean I could see a future where there's some kind of mixed forum view. In a way, MyThreads is sort of like this where it mixes all the threads together you have been a part of... but we'd have to totally re-think it all. Something to store as an idea for later.

The second part is happening. You'll actually start to see them pop up in the app homepage today. They're not highly featured yet, but they're now on there.
