Last weekend me and some friends were skiing up in Alyeska and there was this one kid pimped out with level one and really nice park clothes but all he did was 180 of to the side of the jump and fake butters over the knuckle that looked more like he was just turning. Anyone else have this problem?
How the fuck is that a problem? If only pros were allowed to buy nice gear pretty much all of our beloved core brands would go broke. Everyone has to start at some point.
I don't understand why we need another thread about this. Also the problem you described really doesn't sound like a problem at all. It sounds like someone having fun in the park, probably trying to improve their tricks, wearing cooler clothes than you.
Just let him know what park is all about, tell him not to fuck the park up ( side hit, roll over kickers and jumps ) and give him some tips, wasn't long ago I was at that stage and I really appreciated someone helping me out and giving me some tips.
Maybe that guy enjoys the powder/backcountry segments of level 1 movies, and he is a way better skier than you out of the park... Also, why do you care? If he isn't doing anything unsafe just leave him alone.
Also, what if the kid has a serious injury, and really isn't even supposed to be on skis at all. I have an ac shoulder separation and just cruise around. Sorry if I don't meet your approval.
So being injured, if i'm not sending spins and hammering rails that's unacceptable to you? That's a little messed up don't you think?
I defiantly agree with the part how it's annoying how he's pimped out but I mean hey we all sucked at park at one point. Everyone is just trying to progress and get better and some people are at different levels.
Guy probably doesn't give a shit about park. Alyeska isn't known for park lol. I know Logan imlach doesn't even hit park jumps anymore and could put out a part better than 95%of nsers
I'm sorry, but this thread is pretty pathetic (besides all the replies) and OP comes off as a gaper using the term "noob". Not everyone will be as good as you, nor will you ever be as good as everyone else. There will always be people better and worse than you in life, so what good is it to judge them either way? The person you're talking about isn't bothering you or cutting you off based on what you've said, so how does his actions even affect you? They don't.
Maybe if you tried talking to the dude, you'd find out he's a pretty cool guy just trying to improve himself... Maybe he's injured and just trying to enjoy what's left of his time in Alaska... Maybe he's a mountaineer who's summited and skied mountains more bad ass than you'll ever dream about...
The point is, don't judge people on their ability level in the park because everyone had to start somewhere. The only thing that counts is whether or not they are at least trying.
I hate to be upfront but the problem is you. Unless this kid is getting in your way and cuttin you off, why should you be so worried about another kid. You were there at one point I'm sure.
I made a thread like this when I was new to ns it's not a problem let him wear what he wants to wear don't give him shit, he will get better at some point
I'm a noob to park and i have my steezy long sweatshirt... I wouldn't be bothered by his style. Being a noob in the park is the natural beginning to being a "park skier"

Side jump 180's and knuckle butters are in right now. He should put on some ADIDAS track pants on and put out an edit.
I'm pretty new to the freestyle ski scene, and this is the issue i've found with it. Skiing ability is what matters, not the clothing you wear or the skis you ride. If you want the skiing community to grow, be welcoming of new people, don't judge them because they don't have as much experience as you. Everyone's gotta start somewhere, and if he isn't getting in anyone's way, just let him practice. The majority of the community is great though, i'm glad most everyone agrees with me.
Dude, be nice to him! In the end he is helping the ski industry and everyone has to start somewhere. But I have to admit I had to laugh about the options ^^
If this is an actual serious thread, just talk to him and maybe even help him out. We've all been beginners at one point of our lives and hey, he may one day drop a tight edit. You never know.
I myself only started skiing park like last season and it was the coolest thing to have people be stoked for me and help me out.
