What up my doods, just making a thread to talk about Hood for the summer like trips or jobs or whatever. Like for myself, I'm working at Windells and just super stoked. Also, know how much snow they got this year?

I mean nothing there's just a lot better/more chill places to camp. A LOT of ppl camp down there and it can just get sketchy. From what I've heard at least.

Ohhhh, I see, so basically it's not really much of a camp site, its more of somewhere for people to just stay so they can just go to mnt hood.

It's national forest land. That's the great thing about hood. You can pretty much pull to the side of the road, go into the woods and set up camp. There's just time restrictions on where you can stay to help preserve the area. So you can camp somewhere for a week or two, then pack up head a mile or two down the road and set up camp again. The air strip is probably the most popular/closest place to camp in hood.

Let's just say when you spend weeks and weeks living in the woods around a ton of other ski bums things can get a lil sus. Gyspsy central.

Hahahahah, I see. That's funny. Yeah I'm looking for something a little more secluded where I can just sit around a camp fire with my bros with a case of beers. Not a big ol neighbor hood of tents. I'll look into it more.

this is the spot. Buy the code once for $5 then just park at the end of the lot by the shower building and you can keep using that same code to get in. If they change the code act frustrated while punching in the code and an RVer will walk up and tell you the codes changed to XXXX and help you in. Worked every time for me last summer, paid $5 once for countless showers

anybody know much about work in the timberline hotel kitchen? heard a lot of working in CDR, Rams head, and those timberline restaurants but nothing really about the hotel kitchen.. might be taking a job there

heavily considering going out there next summer and working as park crew/digger, what are the pros/cons of each different camp/public park? like amount of time to ski, schedule, ease of getting the job, etc?

The hotel kitchen is the main kitchen used for the CDR, and for prepping for the Ramshead and Blue Ox. Hotel kitchen employees usually start showing up around 5am and generally leave by 10pm, but I don't know the shift times nor what the current staffing needs are.

Last two days were prime! We were skiing Monster Lapz from the top of Palmer to the bottom of Jeff Flood. 3700 vertical feet in one run!

I took one full Palmer to JF lap yesterday and it was epic, the terrain is pretty meh under the TLine lodge though

Collin Rehm is a legend. Ark was apparently done for as of a few months ago but now it's a thing again? I think it's yalf staff at Ark yalf at Windoles campus.

Was camping at hood about a week ago, forest rangers rolled through told us we couldnt live in the woods for more than two weeks. Ran all of our ID's, heard they took two oz of weed from some homies up the road. Fuck em! but watch out yall

One of my homies leaked the location of our campsite to a portland tweaker and he actually showed up to our campsite and tried to steal our stuff by trusting us to leave him at the site alone. We outsmarted him but a message to all the homies, be mindful of who you trust out here and never tell anyone where you're staying unless you plan on having them over.
