Playful Twintip Charger Ski

Hey guys, I've been looking for a pair of skis for next year and I can't settle on which pair to get. I'm 6'1" and 195 lbs. and have been looking at skis with an all purpose width of 105-110. I'm skiing mostly at Alpental, WA so versatility is a must. These are some of the skis I've been considering...

) Black Crows - Atris
) Icelantic - Nomad 105
) 4FRNT - Devastator
) Whitedot - Director
) Lib Tech - Wreckreate 110 (17/18)
) Nordica - Enforcer 110 (17/18)

Any other skis I should be checking out? What do you guys think of these skis?(Yes I looked at the ON3P - Wrenegade 108/ Kartel 108) Thanks guys

A little out of your width range, but the Moment Bibby might also be worth a look. Pretty well established as one of the best "playful chargers" out there right now.

add the blizzard peacemaker or gunsmoke to your list. the flip core is magical! haha

but otherwise the devastator would be my pick of all the skis you mentioned. That shape is is so fun, super turny when it wants to be but then you lay over that 25m turn radius and it charges hard.

194 devs sounds great for you. Super versatile although they are pretty heavy. I demoed them a few weeks ago and fell in love with them. They are a bit squirrelly if you are straightlining on hard pack but if you give them a little edge it's completely negated. They are bomb in trees and crud due to the full rocker and weight.

Check out blister if you haven't yet, they have in depth reviews of some of the skis you listed.

Out of the ones you listed, the Black Crows, 4FRNTS, and Icelandics are good.

Lib tech and white dot are not good, I don't know much about nordica though.

Look into the ON3P Kartel 108 as well. I know you said you looked at these skis but they are amazing.

Do you think that they would be too much ski for tight trees and steeps?

I had no issues in the Brighton trees (wasatch). I'm 6'2 215 FYI and like slightly longer skis than my height. The 184s would be a great choice too, just slightly less stability on hardback and chop, and probably less float due to the shorter length. I'd read the blister reviews, they've looked at both.

I'd just ask 4frnt with any other concerns, they will point you in the right direction for length. I don't want to give any definitive answer since I didn't even spend a whole day on them.

Do you have any experience on the Black Crows ski? If so, did you find that it was stable enough in chop due to the softer tips? (That's my main concern about those)

I'm looking for the skis as a daily driver and groomer performance is not important to me. Do you think it would be to wide?

It is. People love those things and bring them out in all conditions.

All the skis recommended to you are great skis with a different unique characteristic, just choose a factor (price, rocker/camber, durability, made in the US, topsheets) that is most important to you and narrow it down. demo some if you can afford it. If price is an issue just comb through buy/sell or tgr and pick up the best deal you can find on whatever ski speaks to you.

The 184 Bibby Pro is currently the only ski that I own due to being a broke college kid. I ride it in all conditions and it is certainly capable of doing everything you ask it to. Groomer performance is actually surprisingly good even though that doesn't matter to you. I find the ski as playful as the JJ 2.0 but much, much more confidence inspiring when conditions aren't perfect and speeds start to get higher.

I'm not sure about all of those skis, but the devastator will be too soft for you. I'd also recommend moment Bibby.

No but you could also check out the moment deathwish, Meridean, or pb&j.

Thanks for all the input from everyone! I've pretty much narrowed it down to the Billy Goats (189) and the Moment Bibby (190). Right now i am leaning more towards the Billy Goats as a daily driver. I know there are many threads about the BG and Bibby and ive read them all. I never had a true answer to which ski is better in trees/moguls/tight spaces. I know they both charge hard so now my question is which one is more versatile in the previously mentioned terrain. What do you guys think?? (I ski in the PNW)

I just got a pair of next years SEGO Big Horn 105s for this exact quiver spot. Playful/chargy twin tip crusher. Ive skied almost everything on your list, and I bought the Big Horns.

They have camber and a shorter turn radius, so they are way more fun than the Kartels on groomers and crud, but the rocker profile and construction makes them just as chargy.

BGs aren't a twintip FYI.

Neither is going to be fun in moguls, nothing fat is. The pintail nature of the BG should make it (in theory) more fun than the Bibby but I've never skied the Bibby so I can't compare.

For the pure PNW cement, I'd be leaning BG but IMO both are super wide for a DD, even for out west. I'd look for a 105-110 for a DD. That gives you the Wren and Kartel vs. the Meridian, PBJ, Belafonte, and Deathwish for those two companies.

PM Cydwhit, he has done some reviews for Blister so he may be able to get some input from skiers who've skied any of those skis listed above.

Blarg! Too many options!

I haven't been on the BG's so I'm no help there. I could ski the Bibby (184) as a daily driver / / one-ski-quiver here at Targhee, or at a PNW resort, say like Schweitzer and be very happy. I'd be tempted to go narrower though, and the Deathwish is a compelling ski for that, probably my personal top choice.

There are a lot of great options here though. Blizzard Rustler 10 and 11 are probably going to fall into this same category too.
