did a quick preview on itunes and the only two that really grabbed me were dna and humble. although it seems that most of kendricks new albums need more than one listen through to really see whats going on.

I like the intro BLOOD. I also dig XXX, HUMBLE, and FEAR. I have only been listening to it for about 30 minutes though.. Im going skiing tomorrow and have the album downloaded so ill get back to this thread.

Every song is flames. He's got all the right producers and the album is a perfect length. Concepts, lyricism, and structure are all on point per usual for kendrick. Feels like a straight rap album, waivering between thoughtful and aggressive littered with typical kendrick cynicism. A little pop appeal but not at the expense of his style. Quite refreshing compared to that turd Drake pushed out recently.

But you already knew my opinion based on my username so fuck what I think

I like kendrick but he only has like two good songs per album, HUMBLE is so overrated, DNA is good.

It was certainly a departure from his usual style. I'm enjoying it a lot more on the second listen than on the first. In my opinion, it definitely deserves comparison with his best albums. Not quite the same brilliant narrative as Good kid maad city or To pimp a butterfly, but still a very focused effort.

It was Kendrick so you didn't even have to ask if it was good. Honestly Kendrick should be the point of comparison for every other mainstream "traditional" hip hop artist out. Everything he puts out nears what I would consider perfection in an album.

I was excited when I heard concept album but the term might be a bit of a meme. Coming from listening to The Healing Component by Mick Jenkins I was looking for something a bit stylistically different from Kendrick. I've listened through the album probably 8-9 times and the fact that I understand a little more of what k dot is putting down everytime speaks to the lyrical depth of the album.

Honestly I had hoped for something a bit more off tempo for kendricks style but he still killed every track. The production on every track was hot. The album plays straight through so well it could be an hour long song too.

Not his best album but it's the classic rapper at the top of his putting out the mellow introspective album. Think Mac Miller with Faces.

Rwally enjoyed it. Definitely gonna be bangin HUMBLE all summer. Will listen to it a few more times and I'll probably have more/different opinions. Good shit/10

But blood, dna, yah, humble, lust, love, xxx, are lovely.

The first listen I was not really impressed, as I was expecting another TPAB. this is so different you can't really compare it, so second time through listening to it as it's own album, I changed my mind so much. I think it's a tight album, most of the tracks bump, especially humble, element, DNA, xxx just to name a few.

I think I just had really high expectations. Listened to it again this morning, and Humble and DNA were the only ones I kept on my Spotify playlist. Again, just didn't live up to the hype in my opinion.
