Mount Position Help

Got some 2015 Bent Chetlers in 192 cm that I'm gonna mount soon

I'm 6'3 and 180 lbs and a more traditional skiier (no switch) but some jibby fun stuff every now and then

Seems like most people go between -0.5-2.0 behind team line.

I dont want to loose the shape of the ski by deviating too far from the "recommended" mounting point however it seems like most people feel its too far center...

Yes I realize there is a huge thread for Bents mounting point but they're all the older models without the HRZN tech

Can anyone speak to this?

Im on the 2017 185s and I'm riding them at -2.5 back. They are super fun and handle everything pretty well, even carving aint too bad on such a wide platform. I didnt detune them and don't mind it at all. If you look to butter maybe look to detune contact point a little but you should be set. Ive only ridden them 5 days but don't regret where I mounted them. Rode at Kirkwood, Northstar, and Squaw. Super fun ski, pretty flex for a pow ski but drive and ski like a dream.

Just to be sure we're talking -2.5 cm from recommended line NOT true center ?

do you spin?

I find center or close to center mounting makes 3s way more enjoyable.

No I'm a little too old to start but I would like to try some nose butters... we'll see if I actually try haha

193 bent chetlers might be a bit long to start. I'd say mount em 1 back ( better in pow) .

Yah I don't think I'm gonna do the "Rec Line" but how far back seems tough to pin point... some people have gone back like -4cm ... I think -2 will be the furthest...

balance between backseat stability and pow, shouldnt have too many issues with 193s.

Check out the TGR forums, most people here will swear by dead center.

Ive found that for most all mountain and big mountain/powder skis for Atomic, the team line is truthfully the best place to mount them. This is only for a traditional type skier or beginner/novice skiers. They do R&D to figure out the best mounting spot for a reason.

Yep. .5 isn't even noticeable. Im not even gonna be riding waist deep pow on these half the time, made sense to me, and I love the way they ride. You're reacting like a little girl dropped her nookie on the ground.

i've never heard of anyone mounting in front of team line on these....just seemed different

What's contact point? Also, they seem stiffer than most other skis in their class(twin rocker powder ski).
