First Twin tip skis

Hi guys, I have some questions. First I have only ever skied on regular skis and I am wondering if I can just go over to twin tips without any practice? Second is I ski keystone Colorado and there is sometime later powder and sometimes groomed what ski profile should I get for this? Last I want to do park tricks but also ski the rest of the mountain any recommendations?

On3p is great, have very good park reputation plus I used mine for all mountain skiing. Check out the kartels or magnus by themm

Skiing something with a twinned tail is not very different than a regular ski, especially if it's a fully cambered park ski, in which case I doubt you'd notice any difference unless you're a racer. However, you might notice a loser feeling at the end of the turn with a ski with tail rocker.

As far as recommendations go, I'll let other people chime in who spend more time in the park, but I have enjoyed my Salomon Rocker2 100s for what you're talking about, although Salomon isn't making them next year.

Okay so first of all, 'regular skis' are twin tips. Other types of skis are old and bad.

Sounds like you want yourself a good all mountain ski. My personal favourite All Mountain ski is from Rossignol. It was the S5 Jib when I owned it, but I believe it's called the Sickle now. Another good name is the Line Chronic. If neither of those skis tickle your fancy, hopefully they can help give you an idea of what to look for.

What kind of skis are you on right now? That will be helpful for getting an idea of what you're used to.

The fact that a ski has a twin tip doesn't make it any different - but park skis come in all different manners depending on what you like.

Currently I'm on rental k2 153cm. I know, but I have been skiing for 3 years and want something better now that I can ski switch all day. Also give me some cheaper recommendations, I'm 13.

Others on the site probably wouldn't agree, but there's a reason there are tons of 13 year olds riding on line skis. I'd look into them, they're cheap and a good ski for the relatively new park skier.

The Smash is not a park ski and not really a twin tip. Its slightly curved up on the tail but its not a park ski. Fun all mountain ski for a light weight skier it will destroy your old K2's but its going to lack in the park. You can get it either "flat" (no binding) or you can get it with a pre-mounted system binding.

If your partial to Rossi and don't want to spend a lot check out the sprayer. And the Slat is their all mountain twin that does great in the park.

I skied smash 7's for two years and there a solid ski. There not great in any specific kind of skiing, but if you are looking for a good all around ski I would recommend them. I never had any durability issues and they hold a pretty good edge. If you need more information pm me or something.

It was the S6 Jib that was renamed "Sickle" in its second year or production, but they haven't made them for years. You can still get 171cm and 174cm new unmounted from ebay or a couple online retailers, longer lengths sold out years ago though. Not sure how tall you are, but if you're looking at skis around that size, it is what I would choose. They are also super cheap these days because they are so old.

That said, Chronics were my first twin tip and I think it's hard to go wrong with those. Line gets some hate on this forum, but there is a reason the Chronic has been in production for over 10 years.

No way dude, he's totally in the right place. He is so badass he is ready to get sponsored even before he gets twins, I saw him do a switch triple on directional rental skis!
