I'm looking for some skis to use in the early or late season of western (Tahoe, CO, Utah) skiing. Right now I ski the Moment Deathwish (112 underfoot), which really can handle pretty much any condition but I'd like to have something skinnier underfoot for when I know the snow isn't going to be great to get the most out of my days.
When the snow isn't great (hardpack, ice, some slush) I'll tend to charge groomers and take some laps in the park. I like to jump off stuff but I don't really do any rails. I want to be able to right switch as well. So I'm looking for a ski as playful as the deathwish but quicker edge to edge in the low tide times. I'd love a ski where I can really feel the difference so I feel like I am benefiting from having a quiver :)
Some skis I've looked at:
- Kartel 98
- Moment PB&J
- Black Crows Chamox
- Armada ARV 96
- Blizzard Regulator
Does anyone have any thoughts on these skis or other ones I should look at? Thanks!
