I also ride left foot forward and ride regular on a skateboard. I feel like the majority of skiers slide right foot forward but most skaters ride regular.
I'm most comfortable that way but...
There's no such thing as unnatural, its a stigma that's been hyped up way to much in skiing. In snowboarding everyone does shit front side and backside and that's expected. All of a sudden in skiing one way is called unnatural and it's mindboggeling. Is one side of your body like incapable of doing it for some reason? No, everything you do one way you can do the other.

this is anatomically correct, but that doesn't mean it feels natural, its just like wanking with your right hand when you are a lefty
i grind right foot forward, but when i go sw on i go left foot forward. it seems weird but spinning to the left is much easier. for some reason im better at rails when i go my unnatural way. I also ride skateboards/snowboards left foot forward. Its like learning how to ski park again when trying everything unnatural, its great.

thats why there is goofy and regular in snowboarding you fucking idiot, frontside and backside is the equivalent of switch and straight 50/50. Not to mention theres unnatural spiinning in snowboarding to. There is a NATURAL way your body is comfortable with spinning and sliding on a snowboard, skateboard, sideways on skis whatever. The way that is not comfortable is the UNNATURAL way. You cant do everything one way that you can do the other right away it takes practice, i cant do unnat 2 pretz 2 tomorrow if i just try it; id have to work at it. youre fucking retarded.
Ahha settle down bud, and you're completely wrong once you get it out of your head that just because something is 'unnatural' it is harder you'll become a way better skier. I know a kid that one day realized this and went and learned with no preggresion up to it, 'unnatural' rodeo 5-9 all first try. He just realized if he can do it one way you just need to mirror it and immitate the movements to the other side. Obviously that's pretty rare and it'll take more work for some than others. But I know a few kids like that.
i was thinking the same thing lol... but whatever way you spin shouldn't predict which way you grind a rail because there is no right or wrong way.
That guy up there is right though if you think about how nothing is unnatural you don't even notice it and it becomes so easy. Especially if you want to get better at rails just try tricks without thinking and have confidence.
Im sorry I messed up what I said, I ski slide left foot forward, but I ollie onto the rail rotating to the right, when I hit jumps, I spin to the left because it feels more natural. BUT when im doing a 270 onto a rail, i approach the rail from the right and spin to the left
