Whitedot Director Ski Length?

I decided that the ski I am gonna be getting for next year is the whitedot director. However, I now have the question of what length, the 171cm or the 181cm.

Some info:
16 yo, 5' 6" currently but going to keep growing to be around 5' 8" next year
Weigh around 130lb but gonna keep gaining weight because i'm still growing
Want these skis to last
Ski in the PNW, specifically Alpental
Big mountain skier, love skiing freeride comps
Currently can ski 20-25ft cliffs but continually progressing
I'm interested in charging in them with the occasional tricks such as spinning or flipping, not going to do park in these skis
One advantage of the 181cm is they are 30% off on backcountry right now which is super helpful for my tiny wallet :)

What are your thoughts, 181 or 171 whitedot director?

I'd go 181, if you're riding big mountain they will be way more stable at speed. Also because you're still growing they will last you longer. a 171 at 5'8" is a snow blade.

181.

the Director is a full rocker ski so I doubt it'll feel like too much ski, at least after you get used to it. Also, if you're looking to use it for big mountain stuff the extra length will help with stability. I'm 5'8 and currently only have my old first ski for the resort which is 171 and it feels incredibly short.

Get the longest ones you can. Maybe stick to the 181 if the 191 seems mentally like a lot to bite off. Forget about the 171 since you are still going to have these when you are a full sized dude. I have the 188cm from a couple seasons back and they ski super short. On hard snow they are a little like ski blades. Also they are lighter feeling than my other skis. Still able to get around in anything and really fun when the snow is at all soft. Seems like the slush is where these shine.

Since it sounds like you have have been skiing them for a while, how are they in wet heavy powder?

Not too bad. Not that anything is good in some of the wet heavy snow we get but I've been able to get down the hill on them in serious glue. My YLE's will keep me on top of the snow a little better but the directors are easier to turn.

Looks like they have tweaked them a bit since they made mine so the new ones are probably even better. Have a blast.
