Tough Frames for Glasses

Anybody have any experience with any frames for glasses that are tougher than the normal ones being sold at stores? I'm traveling pretty regularly, and I need a frame that can keep up with the tough terrain that I explore.

I lost a pair of my glasses in the mountains of Glacier National Park, when I really needed them (grizzly bear encounter that was WAY too fucking close for comfort). They fell out of my pocket when I slipped down a switch back when the snow got a little slick. A mile later I realized that there were bears in the area after I noticed a posted warning sign, but I was unable to make out details in the distance. I'll be investing in those strap things (can't remember what they're called?).

So if anyone has any information on outdoor brand frames I could look into, that would be dope. My insurance allows me to get new glasses once a year free of charge, so price isn't a concern.

Jw why do you want a pair of glasses as oppose to contact lens? I would highly recommend buying daily contact lens, especially if you are going to be outdoors a lot, wearing daily contacts are super easy because you can just throw them away during the night and have a new pair of contacts the next morning. If you are doing a lot of outdoors stuff, wearing glasses are really not the best option, as you don't have the best frame of vision, your range of vision can be impaired depending on how big the lenses and frames are, and they can be annoying when doing activities. So i'd suggest buying daily contact lens

Contacts are pretty neat. But that's not what you asked. Sounds like you need a pair of croakies or idiot strings.

They also make that pair of glasses that are flexible as to not break. lots of kids had them in middle school.

Another vote for some croakies. Also if you can hike without them on, i doubt your eyes are that bad. Without my glasses or contacts, which are the best thing ever btw, i couldn't read a phone number on my hand.

I am near-sighted (I can't see far away?), so I can't make out details from far away. Things get real fuzzy after about 60 feet.

I forget the brand but its got memory metal. You can bend the crap out of them and they retain the original form.
Any good optometrist should carry them.

For some reason my Gucci frames are tough af. Also, I get looks cause they're Gucci. Just get an idiot string g

Safety doesn't always go with beauty hand in hand. But it's necessary to be cautious. Though my computer glasses are quite stylish and they provide safety as well. I don't know, it depends on the model I guess.
