I honestly don't think I've had a bad day. There are some days where I only take a few laps cause the skiing is not good, but then I just go home and find something fun to do.

Propably when i was riding my brand new Head Shows few years back and got my noses stuck inside a rail. Having dins too high, snapped my left ski in half. It was on the third lap with them. That was my own stupidity but it sucked really bad.

its probably the days where i have bad shit going on back at home and even getting away to ski i cant stop thinking about everything. It just makes for a depressing day lapping.

Trying to impress my friends by siding a simple tube rail. Ended up falling in such a way where my left binding got wrenched clean off. I literally cried for like 3 hours but I was 10 so who the fucj cares.

Out of this year alone, it was when I broke my heel plate on my FKS's the day before a big nor'easter was supposed to hit. And it was the day before my birthday.

I ski like 20 days a season cuz I live far from any mountain so any day im on the hill is amazing. Never really had a bad day before.

This year. It was one day where it was warm the whole week and then it got cold again so they had every snow blower on and it was nearly impossible to ski. And to top it off I left my $70 mittens sitting on top of my car and accidentally drove away so that day pretty much fucking sucked.

Fractured my frontal lobe in 2 spots 3 weeks ago doing my first dub front, it was not a good day, but I got a sick scar now

I started the day teaching programs. Went to get the last kid and he was on the ground kicking my new skis. He chipped up the entire bloody edges on both of em (did it on purpose). Supervisor got mad I was mad during my lunch, which was stupid. After work, I did a few park laps before heading home, on last lap I cleared a quarter and landed on flat. Went home, spray painted half my poles black. I still don't know why I did that, but I never finished painting them. That day was hell

My worst day was when I was in like 7th grade and Santa had just brought me the jr benchetlers. They were my first pair of twin tips so I was in love. My first day on them a couple days later it dumped snow at Stevens pass. I wiped out near a tree well and lost my ski and looked for it for 2 hours until my bro finally scooped it out of the snow. My brother was hella mad at me for losing my ski and after he found it he chucked it down the hill where it took me another 45 mins to get down with one ski on. I was pissed.

Either the day someone stole my smith maze helmet id had forever, so many old and awesome stickers on that thing, or the day I thought I was witnessing my buddy being paralyzed, which arguably was way worse but the helmet thing pissed me the fuck off.

He caught an edge going down a pretty gnarly glade run, lost his balance and thick snow trapped his other ski so he kept going and got some speed pretty much out of control, then finally caught another edge and flipped over. Im watching this in horror and now because its so steep hes basically just straight falling down, then he collides with a tree straight in the middle of his back, gets practically wrapped around the whole fucking thing and collapses at the base. Skied down there so fast just going "holy fuck holy fuck don't move man dont fucking move" Also thinking holy shit holy shit what do I do were pretty far our from regular runs, do I go get ski patrol or wait with him for somebody to come by, hoollyyy ffuucckk. Anyway get to him and he just lets out a big groan and says the only pain was when his tailbone whipped against the tree. Took him to medical anyway and they said he was fine, I thank the gods everyday I remember it that nothing worse happened. Definitely ruined that day, also trees kinda scared me after that.

This made my heart ache. I've had too many of these days. Other days I'm so pissed at life that I put on some heavy tunes, ski reckless and end up getting hurt. Don't ski angry.

I ski angry/depressed wayyyyy more than I should, I usually end up picking fights with people for the smallest things.

the day 4 or 5 years ago when my brother tore his ACL at COP, the day before we were supposed to go to sunshine and then louise.. its probably been 7 years since ive skied in the mountains and the dry streak will be ended this weekend when i go to fernie

some 12 year old gaper french frying when he should have pizza'd and smacking into me when I was like 15. it was pretty icy that day and i fell and broke my arm backwards, i think to stop the fall. someone else came and said they'd get ski patrol and when jerry heard that he dipped and i got left alone for a good 10-15 minutes in some of the worst pain of my life. plus i was on a trip with some friends at their ski house and it was day 1 on my second run.

When I decided to get sick mid hike. My throat hurt like all hell, and it didn't help that I was dehydrated. Missed the next week of school and had to sit out half of my christmas break. The run down was sick tho.

My 2nd drop on Corbets two years ago was a sunny march day. 40 at the peak during the day, dropped to about 10 degrees at night. Caused for wicked ice. Ski popped out after the drop and shot down the hill. Lets just say the ski wasn't the only thing flying down the couloir.

No serious injuries but definitely rattled.

hung over as hell i twisted out of new bindings and ripped my forearm off from snow burn. went and got it cleaned up, next run took a table top a little far and delamed my new to me but used skis.

i called it a day after that.

Cold days/nights skiing in the midwest that caused me to go on a hiatus from skiing for a few years...

but to name a single worst memory, my girl and I and some friends/roomate were skiing a certain Vail resort after a heavy snow storm and they had just opened up some sidecountry (or did they). We started hiking up but the snow was deep and my gf/wife is short and was struggling so I stayed with her and we tried to ski back in bounds. We ended up having to ski a little of the side country which emptied into a gulley that we would take to get back to the lifts. Down there where the gulley converges, I see a group of people including my roommate. I hear them yelling another friends name "Mike!" Anyways, turns out my roommate triggered an avalanche and got buried pretty deep but was able to dig himself out but his brother was nowhere to be seen. We had a half dozen people searching but we couldn't find any signs of my friend. I heard one of the other people who we didnt know being like "he's done for/dead" and at that point I mean you can't hate at all, they were right we had been searching 10-15 minutes. We called for help, kept digging. Finally one of the kids got word that they had my friend down the mountain. Idk what happened maybe my roommate was smoking a cig or somethign and didn't see his brother ski away and somehow his brother didn't hear everything happen behind him. It was all fucked up, tons of silver jackets were waiting for us at the bottom and they made some threats about pulling our passes (for like a month) but i didnt care i was happy to have my friend.
Anyways, never did get our passes pulled as they fucked up they originally accused us of dodging ropes and skiing closed terrain but since they were still getting parts of the mountain open, they never had yet got around to putting up ropes to close it off so they realized the mistake was on their part and that was that. fuck backcountry skiing. I used to be all about it when I was a college student in Minnesota going to Jackson Hole for spring break but you live our west long enough and just start to realize it's fucking dumb.

My 3yo broke her leg when she fell right next to me. She was killing it too, linking turns and shit, had just graduated from the magic carpet to real lifts, wanting to race, flying into the lift lines and throwing on the brakes like she owned the place. Happened 5 weeks ago so no skiing untill next winter, shes still in a cast and can't bear any weight on it.

I can't shake an immense feeling of guilt for even putting her on skis in the first place, plus I was telling her to ski over to the right maybe had I not been barking instructions at her it wouldn't have happened, I had her DINs set at 1 they probably should have been bottomed out. It's pretty much all my fault and I feel like a piece of shit for what happened.

That sucks man, things happen, and you shouldn't feel guilty. Time flies though so she might be on skis again before you even realize it's been an entire year.

I got stuck in a tree well without phone service at the end of the day, and my crew was a long ways away. That was a long couple of hours that could have ended a lot worse than it did, thank god.

Had a pair of new-ish skis stolen at the end of an awesome day.

Tore my acl on the first day of the season.

All equally frustrating :/

Practice for a halfpipe comp had just finished and I had to take a mad shit. So I’m like ima do that now, when I get a call from my coach I’m dropping in 5 riders. Fast forward to my run, I have a unbareable pain in stomach, I go up for my trick on the wall and when I land all the poop flys right out of me. It sucked but what ever

5 years back I skied down to this outer lift to find a huge line, then find out soon after that the lift is not working. Started hiking back up a groomer to the main mountain but felt unwell by the time I was done and ended up coming down with a really shitty cold for a few days.
