SklarI've found that I rarely ever actually adjust the length on my adjustable poles.
Once I bust them, I'll probably just get non-adjustable poles with powder baskets
pookissDon't get Line Paint Brush, poles are average and baskets crumble. Definitely not worth $100. Black diamond traverse are sick. Or any other backcountry poles.

jcaI always just go with a pretty standard pole length and put some hockey tape below the grip for long sidehills while touring. I had a pair of adjustable pole and pretty much never adjusted the
SklarI find I have my BD traverse Poles always set at about 115cm. I'm 5'10"-5'11" ish
oreyi steal poles from the lost and found
CaseyI had this attitude about poles until I started touring. Powder baskets and proper length are a must have.
oxicleanThe trick is get poles that are too long and cut them down. Also, you can just buy powder baskets.
CaseyI know, but with my lockjaw's I can have long ass XC poles while I am climbing, shorten them up in 2 seconds to ski down, or have short park poles if I am skiing inbounds.
oxicleanAdjustable poles definitely have their advantages. Only real downside is the cost if you damage one.
